In my opinion, it's one of the best way. Thank you!

I use 2 individual bungees on mine and tie the knots around the cords itself like in a double fisherman's knot. That gives 2 adjustable bungees and the flexibility to use it on both wetsuits and drysuits.

Hi, Do you have a picture/video of that? I've never needed to adjust so much - I can make the bungee longer/shorter and just add/remove knots on the ends. I also can pull the computer further up the arm to make tighter, and lower down to make looser. But I'm keen to see what you do :-)

@@DiverbyDesign This is the one side of my dive watch. The other side is similar: drive.google.com/file/d/1Mm1rCywov29VvWm1sOdPwFD4XpglG5ZZ/view There is a nice video showing how to tie the double fisherman's knot here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3m4p2ClhLKqiKM It is demonstrated using 2 different cords, but can be done with the ends of a single cord as well. I made mine so that the largest size it can extend to (when its a double fisherman's knot), fits my wrist while wearing my dry suit. And when I pull the two knots apart the cord will fit my bare wrist. The knots stays tight and don't slide on their own when using bungee cord like you did in your video. But even if the knots would slide, then they will not let the cord ends part and break the cord loop open.

@@Martin-mh8gh right, I see it. I know the knot (I show it on the mask strap and fin strap videos I think). Nice idea you have. I guess you pull the bungees apart before you put the computer on because it needs two hands? And great that it doesn't slip on the dive. Always good to see options - cheers 🙂

@@DiverbyDesign The bungees usually provide enough elasticity so that I can just pull the cords a little to make my hand slip through the cord loops. Should the knots slide a bit, then it isn't too hard to adjust them with the hand on my other arm. Ah yes I see you do use it on your mask and fin video too 🙂 For bungee cords I feel it holds the cords a little better than when using the "single" fisherman's knot.

With a single piece of bungee, aren't you worried that should a failure occur you don't have another piece to hold it on your arm?
@DiverbyDesign

There is a knot in the middle that effectively isolates one side. Just my preference of course as I hate too many separate pieces and too many knots.

Thanks for the informative video, Vas. Placing the knots in between the dive com and on our skin doesn't seems comfortable, do they?

Hi, with the fairly thin bungee, the knot is not so big - and then the computer has natural concave parts the knots sit a little into - and then the wetsuit/drysuit adds another buffer. You can always route the bungee with the knots ending up on the outside - but I prefer to keep them under/inside so I don't catch them which I think should help keeping them tied. This is not "the best" or "only way" to do this - just the way I like and to give an idea - by all means have a play and let us know what you come up with :-) If you want to see other options (and also a pretty "crazy" idea) see this, kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5e1o3p_bdqgn68

@@vasproud just tried it out with your way, and I like it for the fact that I could easily adjust the loop size to wear my Perdix on either hand. Also, the middle knot would act as a safety to keep the computer remain hanging on the wrist should the bungee came loose or cut. Yeah, you’re right, those knots are tolerate-able, I’m gonna keep it like this 😊👌🏻. Thanks!

Shearwater’s second method is indeed crazy! The first method as demonstrated in their video was what I used before I’m trying it out yours.

What diameter is the bungee you're using?

@@ChristophScuba I used 4mm because that's what I have with me. But I think 5mm will be ideal.

I've wanted to do bungee on my perdix but how do you adjust the loops for thicker wetsuits, a drysuit, or just a rash guard?
@DiverbyDesign
@DiverbyDesign 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, To be honest, this is the purpose of bungee - it stretches to accommodate these changes in size. What you can also do is just pull the ends to make them shorter and tie a 2nd knot in the end to keep them that size. You can also pull the computer further up your arm to take in more slack, or lower down to make them looser. I have several suits - some with large rings, some wetsuit - and no need to change anything for me :-)

I think I've seen people use fisherman knots for their computers. Can you show how to do that?

What size bungee works??
@DiverbyDesign
@DiverbyDesign 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I use a 3mm normally as it is quite forgiving and lets me cope with days I wear a bigger suit / wrist cuffs. You can also use a 4mm too. If you get some 3mm, try to actually pull it apart with all your strength and you see how strong it actually is :-)
