Nice work man. 👍 It does take much more than you thought doesn't it? I built something similar few years ago so I know. It is on my channel. Good thing to pay attention to thermal conductivity. 👍 One thing I learned on mine. What ever gets warm in sealed container, surrounded with could water, WILL CONDESATE. And those LiOns in there will get warm, if not hot. Solution might be some kind of textile padding inside. Or provide cooling for LiOns. Or use Lipo batteries, those won't get more than calm.

I'm also building my own dpv. Good work bro! Wish you make it!

Hi. Is it possible to let the motor run in water? Is it waterproof itself? Thanks
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
Yes the motor is waterproof

Would the Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 5045-500KV Brushless Outrunner Motor or Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 5045-450KV Brushless Outrunner Motor be a good option as a replacement for the engine you used?
@unnown17 Жыл бұрын
And would Turnigy Marine ESC 150A be a good option? or would that be overkill? hobbyking seems to be out of stock for everything else at the moment
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
Yes, these should be a good replacement. I would suggest the 450kv version
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
As long as it fits inside the Dive-Jet, it’s ok

Un alternativa al motore turnigy g60? È diventato difficile da reperire

Great work! The G60 Brushless Outrunner 500kv is waterproof?
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
Brushless motors a in general more or less waterproof, only the bearings are problematic but they can be changed with sealed bearings
@aspromallis Жыл бұрын
I start printing you project is amazing, turnigy g60 motor is discontinued is there any other motor that fits ?
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Every outrunner with a diameter of 50mm and a lengt up to 60mm should fit. The Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 5055-430KV might be a good choice. Just make sure to match the motor kv to your battery voltage so you get roughly to 9000rpm. I think lower kv and higher voltage might be a better approach, because that will keep the amp draw down which should theoretically reduce heat. I’d love to some pictures of your build

Looks amazing, are those plastic covers enough to keep the engine waterproof or did you use some sort of epoxy?
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
The function of the plastic covers is to keep dirt out of the motor. The motor by it self is waterproof, only the bearings aren’t, but changing them to 2RS bearings will do the trick
@unnown17 Жыл бұрын
Cool, I will look into it. Also would an ip68 pot be a better option instead of the hal sensor? Or are you trying to keep costs as low as possible as those pots would be pretty expensive in comparison?
@unnown17 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to keep spamming you with questions but this is the first time I have ever made anything like this... so I'm using the same batteries, would you mind sharing your brackets and battery connector models as well?

Awesome project! Will it be possible to build one without a lathe? If so I will most likely build one before next summer.
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
I the first part of the build, I 3d printed the bottom part, but with that there was no way of cooling the esc. You could use an aluminum pipe instead of plastic and mount the esc‘s cooling surface to that. Or you cloud try water cooling, but that could result in more point of failure in terms of water leaking in.

Can you make another one i 1:03 1:03 buy from you good work

Do you mean the Aluminum part?
@basquescout3 ай бұрын
You should use a lower Kv motor, thats not going to deliver anything close to 1500W, for your purpouse a 12S with a 120kv motor with be much better and you should lower the drag of the prop too. Also if you have a 360Wh battery running for 3,6h, if you do the math that´s 36W. I recently made a SUP motor and I´m using a 700Wh battery for a 50min runtime at 800W
@3dprintcnc164Ай бұрын
I don’t know what your math is, but my math says 360Wh/3,6h=100W Lower kv is better but 12s batteries are expensive and the 5s batteries were relatively inexpensive.

There are a lot of parts in the 3d drawings you shared, but you don't combine that many parts in the video, why? it was very confusing 3d parts There are 17 parts and you use 7-8 of them in the video

you can try to use CorrosionX for the outside parts it makes it waterproof i have used it on servos for my uboot. another idea is that you cover the hall effect sensor in epoxy to make it waterproof. do you have a discord server that we can eventully talk? I speak german i am from austria.
@3dprintcnc164 Жыл бұрын
I always thought that these Hall effect sensors were waterproof, I’ll try coating them with epoxy, but apart from that an the motor bearings, everything should be waterproof. I don’t have discord but you could send me a message on Instagram instagram.com/3dpri_ntcnc?igshid=MjEwN2IyYWYwYw== I speak German, too.
