Love that Garmin is growing the line of computers. I had the MK2i and now the MK3i, and wear it everyday as a smart watch and love the dive computer functionality. I love the screen size of the X50i.

The screen is definitely the main reason why I would buy this product. Also the touchscreen to setup the dive is so so convenient

Thanks for this review. This Garmin computer looks like the best ever diving computer. As a recreational diver still in progress, I especially look after the after-diving data that you can analyse back on land. Combined with the diving data, the compass, maps, tides, and classical ascend rate, this offers means to analyse your dives, and know where you can do better. Thanks for the contest !😊

I love that you can track up to 8 people at the time and also the incredible customization for datafields in the screen. However, the touchscreen has to be the greatest feature!

Most excited for the SCREEN SIZE. I dive a Mk2i and was going to go shearwater Peregrin AI for the screen but didn't want two dive algorithms running and two dive logs. If I had one gripe overall with Garmin Dive products it would be that while the garmin "Dive App" is a decent app, it makes exporting the dive log very clunky. But I do like thier products and I like that when "paired" with a Garmin dive watch, you can honestly have a watch that is functional for other activites and use when not diving.

I have the mk3i and I love it and how it displays the Dive profile on the app once I’m finished diving. My favorite feature is definitely the air integration and the ability to get your on the spot sac as well as the new depth chart. Although I plan all my dives and keep track of my time, I think it would be nice to have a little reminder from time to timeto help you execute the perfect plan each and every time. Definitely looking forward to picking up in the near future.

One of my favorite features of the X50i is the screen, I have several computers along with the MK2 and 3 series and one of my biggest issues is being able to see my dive info I feel this new computer will allow me to fit all this info in one screen instead of having to scroll. Also the communication feature is awesome I’ve found myself diving with someone new and underwater coms ends up breaking at some point and this will allow me to leave the slate and pencil back. Also will minimize the clanking and horns underwater when trying to get divers attentions as long as everyone have the same system of course.

My favourite feature of course is the 3" Vibrant Color Touchscreen Display!! In the generation of smarts phones, touchscreens are just easy to use, and it saves a lot of time when configuring and review dive logs!

I like the idea of communicating with dive buddy and knowing distance from buddy. I dive in bad or low visibility on most days. It’s easy to lose track of a buddy when looking for lobsters . These features would help make things safer.

I’m one of the ‘older generation’ divers you spoke of. I also have a Descent Mk3i that I’ve really enjoyed but I sometimes have trouble reading my tank pressure. I’m selling the Mk and picking up this X50i as I’m all about the readability aspect. Can’t wait to try it out.

I like the pre-loaded maps of dive sites personally. Nice to know the topography of where you are diving for sure. And the integrated in-reach capability is also a plus.

I really like the messaging feature. It is useful in knowing a person's status whether they are low on gas or if help is needed. Messaging more than one person or your group is very helpful. Also having their tank pressures available is a good integration.

Larger display is definitively a plus! I have an mk2i 52mm and in order to have an immediate reading of the info i only use up to 4 data per screen (ndl, depth, time elapsed and cylinder pressure)

What I really like is two features. First one is the touch screen which avoids the frustration of hitting the wrong buttons during the setup for your dive. Second is the larger screen which will make being able to read everything much easier.

I would love to see how this beautiful screen performs in the deep. The touchscreen on the surface must make setup a like a dream, and that compass is just mindblowing. Maybe an overkill for a recreational diver, and I don't see all my buddies buying one but the communication with and distance to fellow divers definitely adds a new level of safety.

I love the idea of communication, I have been in situations when my partner was further away and I could not get his attention, at those points it wasnt a serious situation but diving with a health issue knowing I can get some ones attention faster defiantly would make me feel safer

I was planning on buying the Garmin mk3i but was concerned, the display might be to small. The x50i would absolutely solve this problem. I think cross compatibility with the MK3 and T2 is a nice benefit. My dive buddy likes larger screens and I like watches, so it will be nice to still be able to see each other’s air using different form factors.

There are a lot of features you don't normally see on a dive computer. In my opinion there are two features that are really interesting, the first is the backup light and the second is the ability to communicate underwater with other divers who have a Garmin dive computer.

Garmin really picked up speed with their dive computers and this one is spot on. The dive site maps with depth and everything are exceptionally comfortable and useful. Also the sheer size of the screen and its quality and visibility at depth, combined with all the functionality really makes a splash 😊 the only thing some extreme divers might want is a deeper depth rating. I didn't catch if it has only Buhlmann, or also other algorithms. From visibility stand point, having experience with the MK3i, which is amazing, this one has absolutely no competition

I'm new to diving, so this might be a bit too much but I definitely love tech and dont want to waste money on a low tech device where I end up with regrets and buy a big tech toy after all. Will watch your other video's as well to decide what to go for. The best of this computer is the size and possibilities you get for the price. Would love to choose for the Mk3i watch if my eyes would allow for the next 10 years but I really doubt that.
