Eric your article was so well written and I know it's coming from a painful place. You and Eddie are right in saying we have to engage in difficult conversations, that's the only way we can overcome this. We hold ourselves and people around accountable for their actions or lack thereof. As a black minority I stand with #stopasianhate.

Eric does not give himself enough credit. The Time article was a remarkable example of effective communication. The writing and tone was better than what we've come to expect from media and professional journalists and its quality was especially notable because it was in the wake of multiple tragic attacks one right after another, when shock and emotion could easily cause people to be struck literally speechless. As a white-presenting American who was already scared for her AAPI friends long before the Atlanta murders, I was pinballing between anger and fear and sadness and hopelessness after that news broke and certainly could not imagine putting together any kind of coherent, organized, meaningful piece of writing. That Eric could achieve that so quickly and well doesn't only display his skill for communicating but also shows he is one of very few who are able to funnel those feelings in the aftermath of chaos and tragedy towards positive steps. In 10 or 20 years when Eric runs for office, I'm sure I won't be alone in being grateful his generation has an able representative.

I am Glad Eric Nam talked on CNN and did a piece for Time Magazine. I'm so frustrated that there are still mass shootings. Everyone needs to speak up. I'm so glad that I not only admire a genuine human being that does music and some of the best guides and interviews ever. Though also someone who was willing to be a little vunerable and it's so striking and so heartfelt. I hope you take the preasure and know that there are people out there besides this fanbase that hear your voice. The impact of your voice and sheer human compasity to strive for everyone including yourself is worth it. I have been your fan for many years. Still am and I am so touched by the way you are handling and devining this moment. Thank you Eric and the Nam family. Thank you to all tbe artist who fight to be heard and I hope I can continue to support you and everything you do until I can't. Let's work together to make the world safer for everyone. 🧡💛🧡💛

I firmly believe that God (or whoever/whatever you believe) gave Eric the gift of communication and wrapped it up in a pretty gift wrap that is musical talent. He’s used his platform to discuss mental health, Asian representation in the media, the Black Lives Matter movement, the importance of voting, and now this. I will always admire him for using his voice for more than singing. #StopAsianHate

These difficult conversations have to take place, so change can happen. As sensitive as it maybe, doing nothing and keeping quit is just as ugly as the act of crime that is happening now. I pray that these open conversations will educate and stop the hate. I know we have a long way to go because hate and racism has been around for a very very very long time!

Eric, I really love the article you did for Time. It was so well written. I even sent it to my daughter because it was so good. I am born and raised in the US and I’m Asian too. Thankfully, in San Diego where I live I haven’t seen any hate crimes against Asians yet. But when I leave the house now for the first time I really notice my surroundings. There is a pretty large Asian presence here in Del Mar and it feels like everyone lives in harmony. I feel like I’m just rambling on right now. Thanks for keeping AAPI fresh in everyone’s mind. I haven’t seen Brian much but you and Eddie are born entertainers. You should both be actors too. Also, come to San Diego it’s not that far from LA and there is a lot to see and do.
