It would be a crime to kill such a beautiful and big mako like that. SHE, not "he" got that big for being one of the best of the best highly evolved predators in the ocean. People are not by any means a natural prey item for sharks like makos, or any sharks in general. We enter their realm. Where they are king and it's their home. Killing that shark would not make us safer, but only show complete disrespect for life. I don't think she wanted to hurt anyone in the first place, and the media does not always portray sharks in the best way. Save Our Sharks!

Mako sharks aren't 'maneaters'. They're not even in the top 5 for most shark attacks on humans. They primarily feed on pelagic bony fish and any attacks on humans are most likely due to provocation. Get your facts straight.

Very cool Video up until I saw them feed it and the news team say maneater. Its funny seeing people make things up for something they really know nothing about. What people fail to understand is: 1. the shark is as curious to you entering their world, as you would be with a deer walking around the lawn/street/avenue/farm. You'd be curious, and that's about it. The only difference between us and them (aside from the obvious) is that they are constantly needing to eat, but typically hunt in the dark...but, when a fisherman/chummer or some dope throws a fish to the animal, it's now like a wolf/dog being handfed scraps or raw but nutrient meat...it's gonna want more. So, it swims about, checking you out, and seeing if the different things you have are edible, or if in fact you can be easy prey to them. If you are gentle, yet firm with the creatures, they will understand that you do not get messed with, and tend to just be annoyed, and will lose interest, especially if you never threw food to begin with. 2. "attacks" happen almost always from misidentification, or provoked by us. in the rare occasion it DOES attack you, it would most likely be from starvation/desperation, but it's hard to imagine a shark doing so in an ocean full of fish and other accustomed prey. So, it'd be nice if the media would stop portraying these things as "man-eaters" and simply referring to them as "animals"....because that's all they are....animals with simplistic and pure goals: survival of the fittest, and the never-ending search to feed and multiply.

I believe in the "dear Jesus save me" cry out. I once was in a deadly situation. Our car rolled out in front of a massive track from an unlit little road onto the main road at night . Makos have made been known to carry out unprovoked attacks on humans, in fact they are the 5th most dangerous species to humans. Rarely, they do consume people. But what about the suggestion that the shark should have been killed? Why? It was doing nothing wrong.
