Am I the only one who is tired how over dramatized documentaries like this are? Let the animal be the star like it should be. Show us how beautiful and cool nature can be without trying to be a cheap action movie.

True! Most uf us are afraide of sharks even tho we never encountered one let alone had a bad experience with them. Its mainly just based on „documentaries“ like shark week or movies. Sharks alone aren‘t dangerous there are only dangerous situations with them.

I’ve waited a long time for shark week to cover the Salmon Shark, I’ve been fascinated with them since I’ve been saving them from nets as a fisheries observer in Alaska for the past three years. They’re amazing predators!

Alaska has some of the world's tastiest fish species.Wish there were an efficient way of catching the targeted fish without harming these sharks and small whales that live there also.Sure glad you're saving these sharks from certain deaths.

he most proberbly has, but mako's are smaller. theyre as long but not as girthy and big. salmon sharks are larger in overall size.

I was a commercial fisherman in Alaska for 35 years and I have seen some huge salmon sharks still see them from time to time out sport fishing or out on my sailboat during the summer salmon run

Salmon Sharks typically max out around 8.5 feet long but they have been captured and recorded as long as 10 feet. One claim was a whopping 12.5 foot on the length. Salmon Sharks look very similar to Great White Sharks, but after studying the appearance of both species side by side for a few minutes, the differences will become more apparent.

I was paranoid of Salmon Sharks when I used to wade fish in the ocean at the mouth of the Kenai River in Alaska. I would see them sometimes chasing the same schools of salmon I was casting to in the shallow water I would sometimes be chest deep in. I was 21 years old though and took more risks. I'm 46 now and wouldn't do it again.

They remind me of a mako. I wouldn’t be surprised if they attack a humans. I’ve seen them attack a seal in Oregon. There’s a video of one attacking a seal in the Columbia River in Oregon. Biologist identified it as a salmon shark. So they do eat mammals.

At the end of the video, there's a good shot of the big gash in the shark's tail and it looks extremely fresh, possibly even bleeding. I wonder if they did that while chasing and HARASSING the sharks?

As far as Northern shark attacks, salmon sharks in Alaska, and Greenland sharks would be the usual suspects. In 1859 in Pond Inlet, Canada a Greenland shark was reported to have a human leg inside of it.

Beautiful creatures but a royal pain in the ass when fishing for salmon. I spent $$$$ on a bucket list fishing trip to Haida Gwaii. My last fish would be considered a Tyee( over 50lbs in early 2000s. (Now over 30lbs) It took 45 min to get it to within 10 feet of the boat. Big splash. No longer a Tyee. Now 1 third of a Tyee. Was not happy. My 1/3 was 26lbs. I did get happy when my dad caught a Salmon shark. What a beautiful fish. It was released unharmed. I paid for 1 Bucket list item. I got 2
