Finding one extinct animal is enough to put your name in the history books.. Forest was able to find MULTIPLE previously thought to be extinct animals alive and well.. His goal was to show people and scientists alike that nature is far my resilient than we give it credit for and the process we use to label an animal extinct just because we haven’t seen it in a while or only saw it once is ridiculous. He truly accomplished his mission and went further beyond his expectations and I’m sure his Grandfather would be very proud of him.

@@drakken04 Sure, I can appreciate what you're saying, but where I live we had/have a creature by the name of the Tasmanian Tiger. Furthermore Megalodon is also declared extinct, yet there are people, who didn't even know what a Megalodon was, who have seen one. Looks like a spot-tailed shark to many fishermen, from what I've heard, not pondicherry. And the show isn't releasing the DNA to experts, from what I've heard elsewhere. Why not share the evidence if this is such good news?

For a creature that's said to be very adaptive, there's no way I can believe them going extinct. Law of the wild is to adapt or die out. I'm thinking they got smarter and avoided waters where humans frequently fish...or they couldn't adapt fast enough...

Galante’s actions, which amounted to him claiming a discovery that had already been made a year before, are emblematic of a bigger, more common problem, said Markus Eichhorn, a forest ecologist at University College Cork who has studied exploitative practices in field ecology. And it’s not just a problem because a TV host failed to give credit where it’s due,

as usual with many of Forrest Galante's shows, there are sooo many facts and information that don't add up 1. The narrator states that the Pondicherry Shark was last "officially" seen in 1979, and has been deemed extinct for 50 years. Let's do the math here, this show was filmed and aired in 2019, so doesn't that obviously make it 40 years? That is unless of course the information they have of the shark supposedly being deemed extinct in 79' is not even accurate. 2. Additionally, the shark was never officially deemed extinct, it was still seen and caught sporadically in India and Sri Lanka. So the team did not truly rediscover an "extinct" species, which is what they obviously want the viewers to think. 3. The DNA test actually indicated that the shark they found "might" be a Pondicherry Shark, but additional testing is needed to confirm this. Despite this fact, they obviously wanted to over-sensationalize the show by claiming that the test indicated that they had "certainly" found a Pondicherry shark, which again isn't confirmed. 4. Just like how Galante stated in his interview with Joe Rogan, that "Leopards are bigger than Jaguars" in this episode, he states that the Bull Shark is the "second deadliest shark" which is a false statement because Bull Sharks are in fact THE most dangerous shark, not the second as he claims. This just further shows how incompetent he is. - To sum it up, Galante not only seems to get his facts wrong pretty frequently, he also likes to twist the truth to boost his public image and make his programs more "appealing" to viewers. As much as I usually enjoy watching these types of documentaries, I'd rather not support a phony and a show-off like him.
