Idk if it was a deliberate choice or not, but I love how the rods don't appear on his arms until AFTER the interviewer asks Wally about his love life. That little touch fits neatly into the onset of Wally's derealization and the dawning anxiety that he's different from his neighbors AND the people watching/hearing him. It reminds me of my own experience, as an aroace person, of suddenly feeling seen negatively and othered for not readily seeking out "my missing half". Idk I just really like that detail lmao

YESSSS!!! I'm SO glad I wasn't the only person to interpret this as aromantic Wally!! The way he says "romance?" like it never even occurred to him as a Thing people do?? BIG same. And I love the way you drew his expressions and movement! 0:08 I think is my favorite, but I also really like 0:17! With the attention to his body language and arm movements, it feels a lot more puppet-like? I don't know how to word it, but it's really cool how you managed to convey that feeling in your drawings without making it feel inauthentic. The arm sticks are a nice touch as well! ^v^

yeah it could be interpreted like that ! him being aro isn't canon but my thought process was, since he follows "i love everyone" up with "i love my friends" he made it about platonic love in response to a question about romance/his love life :'] also in the transcript when he says "romance?" it says he's flabbergasted, and the "oh, no, i dont.. know" felt like he was trying to find a way out of answering. plus Well I'm Aromantic and like it when characters i like are Also Aromantic HDBSNSBDNN
