Thank you very much, I took an 18L for my 30m dive at my advanced open water back to back with open. Came up with 40 bar lol.

Great Video Bob, use a 120 a lot on my local pier dive, it allows me to spend around 2 hours taking happy snaps and video's, I figure I'm at the beach and I'm going to get my money's worth. It max's out at 10 meters and NCL are never a problem.

Great Video Bob, and makes all the sense to load Nitrox on those huge tanks, because Nitrox extends our NDL, and in most cases is the best choice to any dive, except those that go beyond Nitrox depth limits ofc though what I have learned with huge heavy tanks specially steel ones like we have here in Europe, the 15 liter, the 18 liter and the super Jumbo 20 liter, is that is not easy to dive with a solo tank above the 15 liter "HP 117 equivalent", tanks are to heavy and to cumbersome, it is better to get a wing and 2 smaller tanks, for example, in the case of the 20 liter "the heaviest and biggest tank" it is better to have a wing with bis 10 liter tanks , a lot more stable and pleasant to the diver, and you have some redundancy.

Must agree, I have three steel 71's I use for different applications and I tend to dive side mount if I need larger quantities of air. Bob C

i never dive with anything under a 100 nitrox and a back up 19++ pony, ( plenty of extra air in case of emergency ) ----> yes it can be a bit of a struggle to get out of the water and step on that ladder. Got to keep those leg muscle strong

Thanks Gregory ! Great comment and I must agree the steel 100 is the most popular we sell and my Ocean diving tank of choice. Regards Bob C

Thanks Bob. Great video. I'm still working on my air consumption and these tanks would be great where I live in Canada.

Combining big tanks and Nitrox are a winning combination. Extra air equals extra bottom time but doing that extra time may push you into deco if you're not using Nitrox.

Use for shallow water dives between high and low tide marks where there is no DCL.

One thing that is very important to consider is the tank size and air consumption of your dive buddy. You can own a 133cu ft tank, but if your buddy is diving an 80cu ft, your tank size becomes moot.

Not really, you technically also have more air in case of an emergency and your buddy is out of air, or otherwise needs help. I don't really believe having more air, based on the lowest common denominator (your buddy) is a bad thing. Really how much does 15L vs 12L affect you underwater? I'd say it's negligible for the advantage.

Bob the next video on tanks you should of covers the high pressure of the tank. Is it filled over 3500 psi and what regulator to use York or din. That would of been good info for us

If you think you need a big tank the real answer might be cardio, I see people with aluminum 80's get a lot of time with them. It's more breathing technique and conditioning. Just saying.
@DiversSupplyYT
@DiversSupplyYT 2 жыл бұрын
John, You may agree with me it's not just breathing technique/conditioning in that a person's nervousness and/or anxiety about being new to the underwater world has a strong impact on air usage.

@@DiversSupplyYT I'm pretty calm and experienced. I last about 30 mins to 1000psi on an al80. I just consume alot of air. I can tell that I do as well. I feel like a whale when I breathe. lol. I'm going to get 3x hp133. even if my friends dive with something else, I can at least match them

@@sofloemir Hey Sofloe, Couple of questions please. - When you say 30mins on a 80Al at what depth are you talking about? - So when you come up, do your Safety Stop and get on the boat what are you at ? 500-600 maybe? - What are your dive buddies at back on the boat? and I'm hoping they come up with you .. right ? Look at, do you need a 133 or would a 100 or 117 work to level things up. A 133 is a BIG TANK. Regards Bob C

@DiversSupplyYT 81ft dive I was at 39 minutes. That included a 3 min safety stop with 34% nitro. I headed up from the bottom at 1000 psi. Was around 500-600 when I was in the boat. So 30 mins was to 1000. The charter boat has other groups. I was referring to my dive buddy and I. She is smaller statute and was at 1500 when I reached 1000. I'm honestly just trying to maximize my bottom time and take less lead weight with me. If 100, 117, or 120 is the right answer, I'm ok with that, but if the buy once cry once analogy means 133, I'm good with that too. I dive with 18 lbs and I'm totally OK with diving using less weight due to the heavier tank.

@@sofloemir Hey Sofloe, So she's using basically 1/2 a tank when you're at 2/3. You use about 17% more air than her. A 100cft is aprox 20% more than the 80. The 117cft really adds time... well over what she has, no much more $$ wise than a 100. - The 117 is just a chunky 8" tank vs a 7.25 like the 100. The 120 is 7.25 but really long and the 133 is way chunky and taller than the 100. Though I'd shoot a video to show these differences. Regards Bob C
