Well presented, shaping up to be a good series. Planning is something that cannot be overstressed, as an instructor I'd finish every course saying, "If you forget everything I taught you, remember these six words and you should stay out of trouble. PLAN YOUR DIVE - DIVE YOUR PLAN." Only thing I'd have added in dangers is running out of breathing gas. Cold, over exertion, currents, fitness, a recent big meal, anxiety, etc can all affect breathing rate/oxygen consumption and consume your supply of breathing gas faster than expected, or even just getting carried away with what you're doing and using up more time than you expected.. Remember to regularly check your gauges, time, depth, and contents.

Yes that's true! I suppose I consider the gas as part of the planning but you're right that it should maybe have had it's own bullet point since it's a very common accident trigger!

Definitely enjoying this new series. Hopefully it helps new and existing divers alike. There is a lot of great information here presented in an easy to understand format. Moreover hopefully it will help guide some new people to get instruction from you! I’m sure you’re an amazing instructor.

Thank you! I hope this playlist can become something for new divers to add to whatever SCUBA course they are raking!

This is a great list! How often have you had any of these events happen?

Luckily pretty much never! But I'm a very conservative diver.

@DiveSAGA what I actually meant to ask: How often have you SEEN any of these happen?
@DiveSAGA24 күн бұрын
@@EricStott as a hyperbaric chamber operator I see decompression sickness frequently. As an instructor I run into the Dunning Kruger effect all the time and as a KZbinr I see a lot of people who think they know more than they do 😂
@EricStott24 күн бұрын
@@DiveSAGA I didn't know that you are a hyperbaric chamber operator. I am sure that there are stories you can tell. Perhaps a series like what www.youtube.com/@MentourPilot does: scuba diving events that require a trip to the hyperbaric chamber and {most importantly} - what things should have been done to prevent it.

what a professional way to explain 👏 man, I love your videos and the fact that you look down to earth when you explain anything about diving is more respectful. I hope you make an episode about the breath control techniques. greetings from Egypt, sir

Excellent! Another home run! Like the first one, all meat, no fat. You should think about starting your own Agency!

@@391wombat thank you! Unfortunately there's already so many agencies out there. And my philosophy is: "it's not the agency, it's the Instructor" so I guess I'll have to stick to videos for now 😄 I appreciate your support! 👊
