I really got to see a different side of Eric with this album. I knew he was a singer, tv personality, MC, but didn't look into it too much. I haven't stopped listening to this album since it came out and I'm so excited for what more is in store for Eric in the future!!

Working at a school where it is very diverse. I believe it is important that every child has a positive person of their ethnicity/culture is represented in the mainstream media. This is by far one of my favorite episodes. I just recently learned about Eric Nam and when I found out he was from ATL, it blew me away. I don’t necessarily agree with the Kpop perspective (westerners seeing it as one-dimensional) mostly because us will find Kpop after Kdramas - Ive listened to G-Dragon, 2PM, Jay Park, Tion Z - it’s very easy to dabble in the various genres and see how multidimensional Korean music is. It makes me wonder - would he be open to being unsigned in the states? Already has a steady discography and depending on the US fan base, he could tour at smaller venues and grow from there?

Everyone who gets out of “hallyu” wave always say theyve always felt limited. But i honestly think thats also what made them more famous or known in the first place. its where & how theyve earned most of their popularity & fanbase. Eric was a youtube star before gettin into kpop but even then he wouldnt be still as popular as he is without bein into hallyu. He is humble, sensible & grateful enough to admit that chances of gettin into a US label is less than half the chance of what korea has given him I get his sentiments. I cant imagine how hard to be a korean doin music or anythin else in US because he is always identified as ‘halyu star’ & ironically his music is too american in korea. I guess most citizen or offspring of another culture can relate

I usually listen to the Kpop Daebak Show on one of the social platforms. So, I'm listening to this episode on one of the platforms while washing the dishes (haha). Then about 1 min in, I hear Eric say that the ENTIRE episode is on here. I immediately exit that platform and went straight to this video. I love it, wonderful episode, and your album is GREAT!! I'm a new fan and i must say that the album before we begin is the ONLY album that i've listened to (in my entire fangirling life) that ALL songs in it is my favorite. After listening to the album i became eric's fan instantly and then i started to follow him on all his social media accounts, and i've started looking up for him on youtube and upon watching videos of him surfacing on the internet makes me fall in love with him more. His singing voice is beautiful and listening to him talking is so calming, i just love his personality. Now i conclude that Eric's my ideal man. I will surely support him in the best way i can. This episode really is one of the important ones of KPDB because you show us what this album really matters to you and the deeper background of it. This gives me a deeper insight into the songs and now listening to them makes it even better. I believe it has to be really hard growing up in a country/state different from your roots. And you know.. because you did not had these high hopes/expectations/ idol dream at the beginning you are REALLY down-to-earth, which is why I enjoy listening to KPDB and of course your music. These types of podcasts are where you shine. When an issue is meaningful to you, the impact to the viewer is ten fold and I as a viewer would rather hear you discuss passionate issues than the latest kpop song. Someone else can do that. Honestly i love how musicians like you use music as a platform to not only express but to tell a story whilst bring n representation to the table. I honestly i was like you, i used to think me being a singer and a kpop singer seems very risky and unrealistic because i guess there's comparisons and underestimating myself. I didn't exactly believe in myself, but people like you eric, legit inspire me. I'm not a professional singer yet but I'm trying to audition for SM and JYP and hope for the best things will go well because, if i really want it i should at least just try even though it's risky.
