its strange that its not a Divi problem, i have build alot of websites with other themes and the contact forms work without any issues even years later it still works, and with every Divi website I build I had problems with the contact form and also had to use an SMTP plugin for it to work, so is it really not a Divi issue?

Yes, definitely strange. But I think since the issue is solved with SMTP, then it proves it's not a Divi issue. The true test would be seeing if other forms send emails successfully without SMTP on the same site that a Divi form isn't sending emails properly.
