This was inexplicably valuable information. Your videos on graphite drawing are the best of all KZbin videos, and you're also a skilled presenter.

Thanks! You made my day. 😃 I'll be back here next year with a lot more, and on www.DrawWithMike.net too, where I've made about 50 videos so far. Thanks again.

How do these have so little views? These are gold. Some of these tips aren't even revealed in college where you expect to learn these techniques.

Thank you! It's comments like yours that keep me going. I mean that quite sincerely. I suspect I make videos that do the intended job, based on experience... rather than ones that please the KZbin algorithm. And I'm determined to continue to do that, whatever the viewing figures are. But I've got to admit it is sometimes depressing... 🤥

Hi Mike! Splendid explanations! I love your phrase: "Don't confuse your mind by drawing more than one thing at a time". It also applies to other activities not just drawing. I don't know how you do the editing to separate the parts of the drawings, but they look amazing. Thank you for your well organised video. Greetings from Mexico 😊

I think learning to not confuse my mind was one of the greatest discoveries I made. Suddenly, everything I already knew about each object or texture came flooding back to me - and became built in to the drawing. The splitting of the drawing? A lot of patience and even more erasing, :) I just divide it into layers with Affinity Photo and then put it back together on-screen with Davinci Resolve Studio. Not an Adobe product in sight... just the way I like it. Many thanks for your comment - it makes all the work so much more worthwhile.

How do you draw a dog's hair and textures?

I happen to be working on three videos on that subject, and no doubt I'll release the first of the three here at some point. But in the meantime - for the pure basics - watch this kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHjahmprj5t0iM0
