Divide to Delta

excellent video on a topic concurrent with material being taught in my introductory geology class. Great way to show erosional and depositional patterns, will definitely recommend this to my peers as supplementary example material! I do have a lingering question, around 13:30 we can see a pair of leaves travelling seemingly upstream towards the fall. What is causing the flow of water to be redirected backwards toward the plunge pool? I'd imagine it involves deposition downstream shifting the gradient, but I am not sure.

Glad to know you found this helpful... I posted this b/c it is what the Intro Geology class I am teaching is covering right now as well! The leaves in question at 13:30 are going down stream. (Take a look back at 6:39) These leaves are traveling in the main channel, the water I was following joins a slightly larger stream just past the water fall.
