I've started to meditate at Juhu Beach in Mumbai and one day, there was a lot of noise. It was the weekend and there was a marriage at one of the hotels so I decided to play this video and close my eyes as I faced the beach. I lost sense of direction as the music progressed, felt as if I was going along with waves to some destination unknown to me, and felt deeply calm after I opened my eyes. It was a beautiful experience. Thanks for uploading this video!

you 'hate' the fact that people have not the same taste as you? Strange. I can find some reasons for this displeasure: purists won't understand that(maybe too much? ) displaying of maestria, maybe too much virtuosity and too few poetry? maybe? ok we have not the whole recording of that tune, alap is missing, which is a shame when listening to raag.

Right at time lapse 8:08, when Ojas shifts the gear to "Dhrut" that is nothing but divine and that opens up spectra of tabla playing. What a fitting conclusion with "Tehai". This duet Sitar-Tabla recital must be preserved to be passed on to the generations.

I listen to this Heavenly Music everyday, any time of the day. Peaceful and Healing Spirituality. That recurring 'motif of a melody', with it's lyrical mesmerizing polyphony in harmony with the 'Tabla Beat'.
@notrelevant5453 жыл бұрын
When he repeats the main melody it sounds like a cosmic joke. We spend our lives so stressed out and worried about the past or future; that smile on his face along with the sound is a beautiful and hilarious reminder to remain present. It always makes me happy. It's as if we get lost in the weeds and cannot find the path, only to discover we were walking it all along. 4:38

When I listen to this, I get transported to a different (perhaps hypothetical?) world, where there is nothing but the joy of living, where music and life and beauty merges together to form one seamless thread of consciousness. Only the greatest of musicians can transport you to that hypothetical world, where you would wish to continue living for eternity. That is not the case in reality, but these gurus of music, who descend down to Earth to sometimes transport us to that world. My millions of pranaam to these agents of the almighty who spread such joy and happiness with their music.

Such divine music.flows from your ears to your soul. All i wish is that people would stop spreading hate in the comments. You can like justin bieber ,emo rap and indian classical all at the same time. All music has its appeal, its audience and its own emotion. Just because you dont like one kind of music does not mean its trash. IMO Indian classical music takes some time to understand and appreciate, so the younger audience tends to lean towards western and catchy music.nothing wrong with that but I believe we need to make it more mainstream and popular in India so more people can appreciate thier own culture. Namaste.
