I am thinking what kind of a fool I am! Being an Indian, never thought of exploring such divine music, yoga etc. Now at the age of 53, after having a mild heart attack I am looking at life and the bliss of being born in this great country called India. Namaste.

I can’t understand why people resort to alcohol and drugs and what not, when ecstasy is so easily available in such music!

The raw beauty of this makes want to laugh and cry at the same time. I must be insane. I am not Indian, just a white guy in Canada. I have been practicing hatha yoga for many years, due to terrible back pain I took it up. It was hard but it fixed my back and led to inner focus and a better life. Thank you India for spreading your wisdom to the West! We love you!!!!

This is my lullaby for today. Just imagine why late George Harrison of Beatles surrendered to Pandit Ravi Shankar and wanted to learn Sitar. I am a guitarist and like all the jaaz, blues and rock music guitar players. I think sitar is played only by licks, riffs and speed only. The sound of the instrument is a pleasure to ears. My pranam to these players.

Classical music is not for everyone. Devotion, patience, inspiration, time and engagement are some of the qualities that are needed for you to understand and get involved to make yourself stand out of the crowd. Enjoy Indian classical music at its best.

What she played was raga Bhairavi. This is basically the ending or to say a vote of thanks raga. I love this one the most cause it's this raga with which we pray to god for bestowing us with the fruit for all our prayer. Similarly we have the bhoop rag which is the beginning of a prayer. Every raga has its own value in indian classical music. Her composition mesmerizing.

The wind in the willows, the wind playing with the leaves, Roopa playing over the strings of hearts...so gentle that we float with the leaves....toward the clouds into the sunset...
