@@amrylindsey8010 Odd that the new testament is all about Jesus with 20 verses naming Mary the mother of Jesus and her other children and pointing out Mary being the most blessed woman in all of history , and nothing more ? What do we find in the roman church? We find an emphasis on Mary and less on the Lord Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith. The OP stated this To Jesus through Mary yet you will never find that in scripture . John 14:6 excludes any reference to Mary as being of any part of salvation. Yes she brought Jesus into the world and raised Him up along with His stepsiblings as recorded in the gospels of Mark and Matthew, however beyond that she is not part of salvation nor does she impart graces as only Jesus is God.

You don't need a mediator in coing to God. Jesus is God and He does not need a mediator. He is our mediator in the sense that He died in behalf of us. But He does not need a mediatrix.

In our culture, we celebrate Feminism often incorrectly. The strength and Altruism of the WOMAN is never militaristic, selfish or harsh. Ask a child who has done wrong or perceived wrong who fears/respects the Father but who seeks Mercy, softness and intercession through the Mother. I never understood how a woman who was a mother herself do could such a thing to another women, let alone to the mother of the son of God. Have no doubt Mary brings us to Jesus! Father Chris, just when I thought that I couldn’t love Our Lady more, you gave this fantastic lesson today. As one who loves to learn, I am absolutely intrigued by the way that you connect the Old and New Testaments. I marvel at The Old Ark and its contents, and the New Ark and its contents; David danced and John leaped when the Ark arrived at the same location. You made such a convincing and awesome case for personhood versus nature, that only the most negative thinker would reject your words and truths. Later in the day, when I attended the vigil Mass, I couldn’t wait to receive the Holy Eucharist, (having been to Reconciliation to prepare for First Friday and Saturday,) and be grateful for the real presence of Jesus, and ponder the presence of Our Mother Mary by virtue of HER DNA her as well. The Mass itself was ehhh, but because of our One, True, Catholic faith, I was able to look beyond the uninspired celebrant, and appreciate the priest’s presence “in persona Christi”. Never have I believed more that Mary is alive, and that Mary is our mother, that Jesus is our Brother and we are all one incredible Catholic family. I don’t know if you noticed , during the weeks leading up to Christmas, that the PC crowd displayed( I think it’s a Macy’s and Simon Mall Co. logo primarily)big signs everywhere that said BELIEVE. I question, in what were they exhorting us to believe? They hijacked all our symbols and colors of Christmas. Thank you for sharing with us what keeps your engine running; that is because you 100% believe. I pray in 2023 for the grace of unwavering faith. Happy New Year and May God bless you, your precious parents, Pam, Sandy and our Marian family. PS sorry about the Michigan loss. I actually was detained from watching the talk in real time because I was chatting with some Michiganders at the swimming pool. That game was going to be the highlight of their New Year’s Eve I’m sure they are disappointed also. Respect of Mary as Jesus’ mother, as our mother, as our mediator to her Son should be basic for us Catholics father Chris. I had the privilege to study at Marist School in the Philippines from 1966 to 1977, from elementary to high school. The very motto or adage instilled in our minds was To Jesus Through Mary, our schools battle cry Ad Jesu Per Mariam. Now I get it. We were trained to bring our beads in our pockets and pray it, and I am proud to still always bring it with me. Ever Forever We Will Sing To Mary…our school hymn. Wow! So proud father! It’s so sad that many Protestants are obstinate in refusing to believe the mediation and intercession of the Saints and Mary - and also the co redemption role of Mary The few Protestant denominations that pray the Rosary omit the Fatima prayer at the end of each decade and also omit the last sentence in the Hail Mary prayer (“holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death “) Again ..so sad 😞

4-year-old Fr. Chris holding the hymnal made me think of a story my dad still likes to tell was when I was about four the priest had us little ones come up during his homily and sit by the altar and asked us questions. One question was, What do you do before you go to bed? The answer he was looking for was pray. What did little Jay say? Read the bible lol I couldn't read yet, but I sat in bed with a Bible wishing I could read.
