Thanks for another awesome video Rich! Liz and I have only had conditions favorable enough to dive the lighthouse once in all of our years traveling to Bonaire. The sea conditions were absolutely flat, with the occasional wave rolling in. Even then I was taken out and rolled around while exiting by one of those seemingly tame waves. Hopefully viewers will heed your warnings and seek a qualified local guide like Bas. Thanks again for posting this one!

Hi Kevin, thank you and you are very welcome. It was funny. A man stopped by while I was filming my dive briefing at the lighthouse and asked if I was the guy with the walking sticks. I said know those are the Grogans. I think you helped a lot of people with those. I hope they do. As you know down there you can’t just be taken a 100 yards down with with the current and get out at a hotel or Sandy beach. In an earlier video on Red Slave some divers got sucked out 2 miles from the point a week later . A fisherman saw their smb and rescued them. I never know if they watched the video and forgot our points about the current. This time I thought I would make a bigger point of getting a guide.
@KevinandLizGrogan2 жыл бұрын
@@ADiversLife oh those Red Slave currents! North at one depth, South at another, all on the same dive. On our most recent trip the current was just too strong (like South pass Fakarava strong) and we called the dive. We advised some folks suiting up to not dive the site, but they went on in anyway. Some people just have to learn on their own I guess. I heard about the divers who were rescued by the fisherman. That’s crazy!

Wonderful video you are such an asset to our oceans and marine life. I would think Animal Planet would want you to do some episodes. Great choice of music like the upbeat seaside song then underwater the soft and beautiful symphonic tunes that match the flow of the ocean reefs.

Thank you Wendy. It is truly a passion I now get to follow. What brings so much joy is passing that live for the ocean on to others.

Awesome video Rich! In September 2021 I went on a dive with the East Coast Divers. The seas were calmer than normal so it was very pleasent on the boat. The dives were amazing!

Pretty awesome diving. We are thinking about going out with east coast. By the way we are on the island. If you are inclined and have time for a dive that would fun. We are here until the twelfth

Amazing video and now I definitely want to experience this myself next time we’re in Bonaire. What are diving conditions like mid to late December in these areas?
@ADiversLife Жыл бұрын
December is hit or miss on the east and southern coasts where this was filmed. The rest of Bonaire should be fine. The air is cooler then too.
