Diving Bonaire is an incredible experience that brought joy and excitement to all of us. For some of us, the thrill of exploring the underwater world is expressed through dance-like movements and playful antics under the water. For others, the joy of diving is expressed through capturing the memories of the dive and keeping them alive long after they have surfaced.
We take photographs, shoot videos, or make sketches of the stunning underwater environment and the incredible marine life we encounter. We may also keep detailed dive logs, documenting our experiences and the unique sights we have seen. Both methods of expressing joy and excitement while diving are equally valid and offer different ways of engaging with the underwater world.

Karim, are you down there *NOW* diving Bonaire? I was there last summer and was sad to learn of the Stony Coral Tissue Disease that is killing off corals at a surprising rate ... and requiring disinfecting ALL dive gear in heavily chlorinated rinse tanks after each dive so as not-to-potentially-transport the disease to as-yet unaffected dive sites. Also, how has the oil spill from Tobago affected Bonaire's diving -- only on the windward eastern side of the island? Have a great time!!!!

Yes, I have heard. Parts of Bonaire's east coast, including Sorobon, Lac and Lagun, have been contaminated with oil, and vulnerable mangrove, fish, and coral ecosystems are at risk, the government said in a statement on Monday, 26th 2024. The government has not declared a state of emergency but has advised visitors to avoid the polluted locations. On Social Media platforms, divers seem to still enjoy the dive sites and in their videos and comments, the sites seem to be healthy. Need to keep monitoring the situation.
