That ending was actually kind of hard to get through. As a victim of stuff like that, seeing people using their victim status to get attention is really sad and somewhat hurtful. Not a lot of people do that, but the people who do kind of make it harder for more victims to speak up. However, going through something like that and recovering is very difficult; the recovery can't just happen overnight. It really seems like they were just trying to cope, but they didn't do it in a healthy way. I really hope everyone (aside from the abusers, obviously) is better now.

The fun part of it is that they still kinda do in the Japanese script. You see, the Splatfest themes get delivered to them by a fax machine. In Japanese they literally refer to the paper they receive in the fax as a message from "Kami-sama". I was there at SnS when Putz had his freakout. After the first day, the TOs gathered all us splat players up to take a group picture. Theory: The splatfest themes are themes humanity argued about and caused world war 4 and 5. Inkopolis sort of "Adapted" to humanity, having the Great Turf War and the battles. The reason i believe this is that because of a war that might have happened, launched a nuke at the Southpole because the enemy had a base there. It resulted in conflict over land. This drove humanity insane, and the splatfest themes caused them to create the 4th and 5th World Wars. Humanity's last hope of survival was space, to get remaining land and have a fresh start. As seen as in ark polaris, there is a spaceship there. Presumably crashed due to humans on boards might have gotten into conflict and/or died of lack of food, or oxygen, resulting in it crashing. As someone who’s a part of the splat source community, and also seriously thinking about leaving it, i can say that it’s one of the worst communities i’ve probably been a part of. there are some really nice people in it, yes, and i’ve made some good friends in it. But for the most part, its really a giant, purple tumor on the bigger and more wholesome splatoon community. Thankfully, it’s gone quiet ever since the lewd house scandal, but there are still a lot of bad eggs roaming in it. If anyone were to watch the videos from this sub community though, i’d recommend animators like Berry Mitchels, John Sandwich, and Alex Spider. All three of them are wholesome and great people who put a lot of time, effort, and love into their videos.

Just real quick: about Marina's IQ - It would be impossible for her to have an IQ because the term IQ is actually a ranking system of sorts. Basically, it ranks human 'intelligence' with other humans at the time. I am sure that the Ark Polaris was most definitely made with the intended purpose of sending humans and even potentially other animals “perhaps bears” into outer space. The word “Ark” almost always usually refers to Noah’s Ark, a large ship that was made with the intended purpose of saving humans and a large variety of animals. The Ark Polaris was likely given it’s name because it was meant to be a “Noah’s Ark” of outer space. I am thinking that the ship either failed to leave orbit and crashed back down into the Earth, or the ship did manage to leave and eventually came back and crash landed somehow, but the details of that particular part of the story isn’t really important.

I actually theorize that Mr. Grizz might actually be DJ Octavio. Because the bear statue is just a radio and it could be running automatically, that means that someone smart must behind the whole scheme. DJ Octavio is smart, smart enough to invent seemingly impossible technology, so him setting up a few voice lines doesn’t sound too out of the picture. He also doesn’t have the time to run Grizzco in person, as he is stuck in a snow globe. The Octarians already have a trade deal with the Salmonids, so why would they steal? The Octarians are shown to still struggle with the power crisis, even whilst trading with the Salmonids. The Salmonids refuse to trade away their golden eggs, and the Octavio knows that the New Squidbeak Splatoon will come after him if he takes the Zapfish, so what if Octavio decided to hire the squids to steal for him? This way his trade deal doesn’t get ruined, and the Splatoon won’t stop him. Other notes: Grizzco is located right next to the manhole for Octo Canyon The old Octoleet goggles, which were replaced in Splatoon 2, are a reward in Salmon run (in addition to the fact that the other octoleet gear was going to be a reward) And most importantly, Salmon run posters can be found in Octo Canyon. Now that... is the most unexpected turn of everything during the Splatoon iceberg series, and at the drop of a hat, it’s quite a big shock the closer you get to the lowest of the depths. I mean... goodness... it’s also a cautionary tale in many ways more than one. Fact: I even looked up the big deal about the lowest level of the iceberg and... indeed it’s a very big deal and a way more intense but important issue as well, from protecting the very young, to conduct amongst the old. Scary indeed.

I have a theory regarding your statement on the Inkling statues: Because since we can only understand them through laughter, this could be a reference to human ghosts inhabiting the statues. Hear me out on this: Judging from the material used to create the statues, It looks almost like cement or limestone which both usually have the makeup of other stones/fossilized animal remains. What if when the material was being scrounged up from the ocean floor, it coincidentally brought up fossilized remains of human skeletons much like the one shown in the sunken scrolls? When the workers didn't noticed it after bringing it up along with the other materials, it was then grounded up to make the material for the statues and in result of that, made a bounding point for the human spirits that originated from the fossils and caused them to remain trapped in the statues for eternity. The giggles being their pleas for help towards the citizens of inkopolis to set them free. (It's just my theory on it. Wouldn't surprise me if this was the case.)

You know what really got me wondering? It's the whole Octolings-living-in-Inkopolis thing. It has been officially pointed out that Octolings are living welcomely in Inkopolis there because the Inklings are unaware that they are in fact Octolings. Because Inklings are known for not being very bright as a species, the end up mistaking the Octolings for their own, just with "weird hairstyles". But that doesn't make much sense. If Inklings are indeed described as being pretty dumb, then there should surely be other species in Inkopolis that are smarter than them. And said species would have already been able to recognize the Octolings as, well, Octolings. Could it be that other of said intelligent species are generally welcoming of them? Maybe, but there surely should have been some of them that generally disliked or hated Octolings.

this is the first time an iceberg video gave me dread, I think it's mostly for the fact that for some reason splatoon just gives me a feeling of unease like no other game, specially with all of the deep sea metro stuff, it just hits different. But at the same time I get hyped for the possibility of fighting against something like those concept art for nils statue or the weird mixer thing. Nightmare fuel bosses just feel so great to defeat because it feels like winning against insurmountable odds, and I think the splatoon series would be great for that, seeing as how the ocean is one of the most terrifying things, I mean, the hole concept of the iceberg images is that the deeper you go, the scarier it gets, so it's not hard to try imagine how terrifying gigantic squid octopus creature would be

You know the transitions brought light into what I was just seeing, Octolings obviously weren't the only victims here. There must have been Inklings that accidentally ended up down there too, so Tartar's blenders wasn't only consisting specifically one species... And not only that but that means there's cases where people go outright missing, and not the "Callie's Brainwashing" type of missing. Plus, notice that the Octo Expansion brought light of this, and THEN we get playable Octolings. Then my suspicion is that only a few rare cases manage to escape Tartar if he's attacking all the Octarians. Marina is one of these cases, considering it's proven she was an extremely high ranking member, probably got out of getting involved at first. If this is the case, then wouldn't that mean the real reason Octarians weren't playable be that there wasn't enough that escaped that would affect mass population? It took two games and a DLC, and the first game had fans begging forever, so the fact that after Agent 8 escapes would allow the playability makes sense, because everyone who buys the DLC gets their "own" Octarian, so it's like the mass population suddenly grows, thus, allowing them.

I recently got the Spl2 art book, and in the concepts for Inkblot Academy, there's a sidenote about the phone booth hosting a "popular ghost story", but doesn't go into it.
