Diving in the Desert! Vista Point at Lake Pleasant

Scuba diving in the desert? Is that a thing you might ask? Absolutely! Lake Pleasant has some fantastic dive sites. One of the most fun is Vista Point. Adorned with life-like fake skeletons playing poker, a life-size Jason mannequin and other interesting displays set up by the diving community, Vista Point offers some great, entertaining dives for people of all skill levels. Come along as my friend Fred and I take you along and showcase some of the fun down there.

It’s a different world down there for sure. I remember scuba diving off Ningaloo reef, Northwestern Australia & seeing giant Manta Ray. Loved seeing the skeletons playing poker down there, ha the Doll would freak me out; just one of my phobias. Great filming, as always. Hummm, anything you can’t do? 😀👍 Rog. ✨

Hey Rog! Jealous of that Manta Ray encounter. Once things are back to normal, I definitely want to do a bit of traveling and scope out some reefs. That doll caught me by surprise. I don’t think I saw it last time. Must be a new addition 😂 Thanks so much. I noticed the electronic stabilization doesn’t work so well under water, so the next time out, I’m going to focus on being super steady with the camera. Also, that’s an artificial lake. Was once a canyon, so if you noticed, there’s some old ironwood trees and other stuff down there. A really cool place!

@@ReganOutdoors - I assumed it was an artificial lake, a little bit like the impounding reservoir 5 mins walk from me. When that dried up once you could see old roads, demolished farmhouses and tree stumps there. I didn’t notice a problem with the image stabilisation though. Yea the Manta Rays were huge, so big I actually screamed out, not the best thing to do with that breathing apparatus in your mouth. It was exciting though to see all the little colourful Reef fishes, it was like swimming in an aquarium. They pulled us in though as they spotted a Tiger Shark from the boat. Great day out though.
