Hi Peter, relay enjoyed video and some fantastic footage that you captured. Great to see you out with the boys, made me feel like dusting the cobwebs of my gear and go for a dip.

That’s brill Carl, we can see what we're both up to now, good to see you’re still at one with the sea. Yes, we could do with another diver I’m loosing dive buddy’s fast. With the lad’s either getting ill or other problems, we’re down to three active divers now, I suppose all of us are getting a bit old now. Love your kayak fishing channel I’ll send the link to the lads.

grate dive, looks like there's a lot to see. this is what it's all about rather than going to the quarrys

Thanks Chris.It takes quite a bit more effort to go sea diving but it’s worth it, there’s always something different to see every time we go. Better than old prams & shopping trolleys.

Magic :D Hope to be diving here this year!

That’s great, hope you manage to get there. We also will be returning in May or June, and possibly September as well, the back end of the year is best for the abundant life. Diving at St Abbs is difficult to beat, That’s why we tend to return every year. Plus nice folk and friendly pubs in Coldringham.

You should do Loch long. I did it last year and a huge eel came up to my face

Hello, looks a great dive, hoping to do this soon, can you remember what settings you used for this, I recorded Browns Bay not so long back on a Hero 3 Black and its nowhere near as good footage as yours.
@PeterHaida7 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen I just shoot in 1080p 60fps. My camera is a hero 3+ silver so I don’t have much control over the settings. What you need is a magenta filter, which is essential for UK waters. I have a Polar Pro glass filter from ebay. The other requirement is good lighting for dark places. I have two Evolva Future Technology D02 lights from Amazon. Don’t use the filter and lights at the same time the video will look too red. Hope that helps.

What a great dive. What is the water temperature at the bottom like?Thanks for sharing!
@PeterHaida8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris for your comment; yes its one of my favorite dives and surrounding area, the temp is about 10 to 14°C at around10M in July & August but it can vary even more depending where you dive.

this might sound very basic... but what are all the floating bits? the tiny wee dots floating around?
@PeterHaida7 жыл бұрын
Hi Ross, The tiny floaty bits are a mixture of plant material, silt,plankton any maybe bits of dead sea-life. I have seen feathers floating around as well; it’s stirred up from the bottom with the currents underwater, especially in the tunnel. Also, the torch light exaggerates it on the video. I will have a closer look when I go again this year.

Peter Haida thanks! I've always thought it was plankton but wasn't sure if plankton were big enough to be seen by the naked eye, great dive!

Hi peter great vid do you have the coordinates of these dive locations thanks.
@PeterHaida6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Danny The entrance to the tunnel is directly opposite a huge rocky stack called Cleaver Rock, which is underneath the lighthouse. There is a fissure in the rock on the left side, dive down approx 10m you should see the entrance take a decent torch. Coordinates 55°55'02.6"N 2°08'23.9"W from google maps, I’ll get the exact location when we return sometime in May or June. Hope you manage to find it, it’s a great dive and well worth the effort to get there.
