AVRIL 14TH ON CASCADIA // • Aphex Twin Avril 14th ...
In this video I introduce you to CASCADIA a highly versatile semi modular synthesiser from intellijel. We take a broad look at the features (which are vast!) before going into a patch breakdown of the patch from the Avril 14th video.
I took a more relaxed approach to this video, taking my time to explain the patch and explore the concepts and features. I’d love to know what you think of it (leave a comment).
I’ll also have more videos with Cascadia in the future so let me know in the comments what you’d like to see explained and explored.

Still laughing at all the people complaining about the price. It’s a high quality product made by an amazing small company out of high quality parts. If you want cheap gear there are plenty of options, and they all sound inline with their prices. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think it's easy to just go "semi modular dual oscillator mono synth" but you look at the features and it's really packed in for the price, impressively so. Each of the features is also an interesting and non basic take on it. The MIDI Integration, pedal integration, mixer and filter options, VCA routings etc. It would take a hell of a lot of modules, even the cheapest options out there to recreate it one to one.

System 100m x 2600! Sounds beautiful. Little pricy, but would be great for people just starting eurorack who want to just spend once rather than buying a rack and a bunch of modules. Wonderful quality of life features like the subdividing LFO.

Feels like a "biggest hits" in a small package. I guess when comparing it next to a case with a Rubicon, Dixie, Bi-Fold, u-mod, Polaris, etc Cascadia works out cheaper.

@DivKid
@DivKid 11 ай бұрын
I did yeah, he was kind enough to post those out next day for me to film this. Mylar Melodies was busy with his talking hands working on the Cascadia too. My talking hands were too old and tired, a couple of years older than Loopops in video land. It's lovely there's such a friendly hand removing, sharing, borrowing community of creators. :)

@@DivKid I did even suspect that perhaps you were doing the talking hands thing first, but then I was to lazy to reference your early work just to fact check an offhand yt comment. (: Anyway, wherever you borrowed them from, they are satisfying to watch. Cheers!

yeah just some lighthearted joking around from me, I'll jump at a chance of silliness most of the time, I don't mind any references across what's largely a friendly supportive group of other creators doing good things. Thanks!

The world is moving too fast for me. This is like things like a piano or a guitar - you would take a lifetime to master - were invented monthly - there is only so much time. Must stop watching videos like that. Go walking in the woods. And play my guitar.

Consume harder! 😉 I mean, it’s not supposed to be for everyone I guess. I’m sure plenty will buy it and master it and plenty will buy it and hardly use it. And everything in between too.

None of this tech is new, don’t worry. Just a ‘new’ way of laying out a section of options that have been available since the very early days of synths. You can do it 👏🏽

@@DivKid haha - no offense intended, it's just that he's the reviewer I've seen do this *a lot* and maybe think of it as his trademark (that and the Kermit voice 😉).
