Divkid is like that guy who has a player piano, and is pretending to play Franz Liszt at triple speed, and convincing everyone in the crowd that he's really playing. I know from super secret sources, very close to Ben, inside his super secret compound, that he is just a figurehead. I know these are shocking allegations, but please read on. The story is that he was wandering drunkenly, in a field, after an EDM festival. All of the psychic energy from the tripping crowd had attracted a UFO. It had crash landed, but only slightly. The door was crimped shut by where the craft hit a stone. It was a craft with over 250 aliens in it, but it was small enough to fit in his pocket. He took it home, where he opened it. He made friends with the occupants, by feeding them small pieces of cheese and clippings of his hair. (Human hair is one of their staple foods, and the fuel for their ships) Using his charming, cuddly energy, he tricked them into giving him the appearance of a synth guru. He has them convinced that their message of "modularity" will curry favor with the world's governments and ultimately bring world peace. They live inside of his racks. They are admittedly finely appointed inside, but I still think it's wrong. They make the "music" which is actually their language, and according to a prophecy by Daryl Hall, will be translated to human language by, of all people, Miley Cyrus, during an accidental double dose of cold medicine, in 2046. He seems like a nice and talented guy, and maybe he is, although my source says that his true talent lies in note perfect covers of 80s hair metal ballads. He seems to be making great music and providing a service to the modular community. His true motivation is to get his hands on every module before it comes out. Also: I heard he can fly. But only for short periods and only four feet off the ground... at night. When nobody is looking. This comes from several sources. Also: If he offers you a drink, specifically something that looks just like a classic Coke.. don't take it. It's actually a liquid contract. It's how the aliens do copyright law. A contract in the form of a beverage. Weird.

I love the prism granular sampler combo. I think it fits even better with the morphagene as gene genie doesnt already have freeze and just kind of adds some live manipulation functionality in general that it lacks in comparison to the nebulae. Its smallish, stereo, digital filter is fine with samples i think, comb delay and digital grit/downsampling sound amazing with varied sound samples available. Its just a swell match.

@16:30, only output 1 is patched, will the module 'switch' to mono out? What if in1&2 are patched and only out1 is patched? I know, it would kind of ruin the stereo function, but would it, as in1 is normalled to in2 anyway?

I can't really tell what this display mode on the Data is supposed to be representing. Can anyone explain?
@lukasm-88455 жыл бұрын
looks like lissajous figures to me, he probably has one oscillator/channel going into the x position and the other one to y. If you'd have just two sine tones 90 degrees out of phase, that would create a circular motion on the Data, but with more complex harmonics and phase relations you get figures like in the video.

For anyone wondering, based on the delay times in the manual, the comb filter’s maximum resonant fundamental is 2khz and the lowest is 1.5hz.

Great modul I have it and cant stop using it ! But there is always kind of a background noise, is this normal ? thxxx
@DivKid2 жыл бұрын
do you mean the crunch of the decimate? Or just background noise at all settings? My Prism module doesn't have any background noise itself. But noise and modular systems are tricky, power is often a week spot and the distribution of it. Do you use flying bus boards? Or PCB ones? Modules can be susceptible to noise from other modules or the power supply but not all are. So sometimes it might not be the module you can hear noise on that is actually the issue in the system. Only way to test is to remove all the modules and one by one add them in and monitor the behaviour.
@LazerGarden4 жыл бұрын
It would be cool to re-create the slightly vocal sounds at 23:00 to make them "sing" a tune. Maybe plug in a mic and extract the pitch to "sing" through a module yourself to add more tonality and imperfection.

@Syncopator5 жыл бұрын
Seems a little odd that it's stereo but there doesn't seem to be any variation abilities between left & right. Anything good to be found in patching the output of the right channel into the input of the left and take the left out as a mono signal? Still, since both channels appear to be doing the exact same processing, that may not be all that useful. And there's no dry/wet or feedback in the delay section, you have to patch it using external attenuators? Opportunities missed here, methinks...
@daxtonfleming5 жыл бұрын
Opportunities missed, or decisions made to keep costs down? Independent control over L/R channels means twice the DSP, twice the panel controls, twice the CV inputs... I expect they'll sell more units at $250 vs. a "kitchen sink" module at $500.
@Syncopator5 жыл бұрын
@@daxtonfleming There's other options, as little as a stereo spread/depth control, you don't need to double everything to get at least some added stereo effect. It's trying to be a"kitchen sink" module as it is, with delay, filter, comb, decimation and stereo all-in-one. Given they went to the trouble to double up the internals for stereo, it's a shame there's so little control over the binaural characteristics of the module.
@toonertik5 жыл бұрын
Bought one yesterday... It does some interesting things in stereo. Playing with the time and resonance creates very nice and varying stereo imaging... If it had been "Kitchen sink" it would not be in my system... it is fantastic unit so far.

so. where did everyone agree to make stereo filters this year? its so random... i mean they're cool, just kinda random. and kinda sketchy how there are so many stereo filters out of nowhere in the last couple months. it's still a unique module with the other features. but i'm confused.
@tbeastie68735 жыл бұрын
Qu-Bit and other top players in the eurorack ecosystem were all invited to last year's Bilderberg confab as a result of growing popularity of the format. Although press is forbidden, one of the leaked talking points addressed the use of stereo imaging to embed subliminal programming within the context of musical composition through a variation of binaural entrainment. George Soros, through dummy subsidiaries, transferred substantial sums to manufacturers willing to contribute to Illuminati efforts in this regard. Close examination reveals these new stereo filter circuits include the ability to receive transmissions over future 5G networks with programming to be embedded during usage, be it during studio or live performance. Although the content of material to be embedded subliminally is unknown at this time, the contention is it will relate in some way to the coming global takeover by the shadowy cabal. White hats are working behind the scenes to find a way to disable or remove the 5G components without disruption of useful function but have thus far been unsuccessful. Currently the only sure method of avoidance is operation within the shielding confines of a Faraday cage (a grounded metal screen surrounding the equipment to exclude electrostatic and electromagnetic influences). The fix may ultimately be comprised of a repeater feeding an inversion of the 5G signal to nullify inclusion in final audio output.
@tbeastie68735 жыл бұрын
Also note the inference of "multidimensional" in the name of this product, either in relation to the hidden subliminal aspect or possibly interdimensional Reptilians or Grays as the source of design, as well as Make Noise QPAS suggesting passage around the intelligence reporting of Deep State counter intelligence asset Q.
