Yeah they started out that way, I agree, but they started to get equally annoying by most of season 9 & and 10. Jay thought he could question every decision Hank would make and Hailey was right there to back him up or do the same. It was insufferable. I couldn’t even enjoy the show anymore. What makes this show so great to watch is the unity and loyalty throughout the team members and Jay and Hailey became a team of two against the rest. I especially hated how Jay blamed Voight for her shooting and killing Roy (guy who kidnapped/shot Burgess) when she CHOSE to follow him to that warehouse. Flippant. No one forced her.

I don’t. At all! I saw it coming from the time she suggested they get married while she emotionally stressed AND right after a traumatic incident had just happened to her. Yes they were already together (dating) but this situation never works, even in a TV series. Right thing. Wrong reasons. Honestly, Kim and Ruzek have a better love story. It’s deeper. More connected. That's how I hoping she would leave with Jay on her last episode. It doesn't matter who you replace them with it will never be the same!! Yes Hailey opened her heart up to Jay but the writers didn't even give them a chance all because Jay said he would follow her anyway so let him come back for her and the end and make sparks fly like never before and let them leave together please they deserve a good sent off let them both be happy!! Something that doesn’t affect me at all. A couple that didn’t make sense from the beginning. A relationship that, in addition to having no chemistry, began with lies and manipulations. She proposed to him while lying to him about what he did and instead of taking responsibility she let Jay blame Hank. Hank hasn’t changed in 10 seasons, Jay already knew how Hank acted, just like Antonio, Alvin and Erin. Everyone had their high points with Voight in which he did things out of the book and then Hailey killed the guy for self-defense and made all that drama for Voight to take the blame. Hailey destroyed Jay. He had already said before how traumatic the army was for him, but he preferred to return than live in a marriage in which he was clearly not happy.
