I have to disagree on that one. You can move in before marriage to test how compatible you really are, but you are not his maid etc. That needs clear and crisp boundaries and good communication. Compatibility in everyday life is so so important, you should test it before marriage, because breaking up is way easier than divorcing... but moving in does not automatically mean that you do the chores and the "wifely duties".

Women, don't ever let any man use their culture to disrespect you and insult your intelligence. When there are misogynist and narcissistic, they will do that on whoever tolerates it. Especially, when you are not first choice, they will never make their priority, and the same way they disrespect you, they open the door for anyone around to disrespect you. It doesn't matter if you are are from the culture. Wait until he gets the lady he really likes and love and willing to do anything with, the level of respect and consideration and communication will be different. And will not be a revolving door at his house, or at least the woman of the house will get a heads up. Thank you.

I have African friends and going to their house seeing 20 pair of shoes at the door is normal and the ones I know look out for each other. African men are more dominating and I looked at his face when Judge Star chastise him. He's not use to this from women. Watch out green card alert.

It’s very true that cultural differences are part of the problem here. We all here the adage it takes a village to raise a child. Those of us from the African continent who have made it out here help quite a bit in our different communities. Yes people who just know you will call you and ask for help; and yes they will call you at all hours of the day. In this culture people are self-centered and don’t support each other. In the motherland we are part of the community and work to build that community with the little we make out here. We pay hospital bills, send children to school, support parents because there’s no safety net out there. I’ve seen a lot of American women who have traveled and experienced that. They have wonderful relationships with their African men or women. Ask anyone who has been on the Peace Corps. Let’s educate ourselves and steer away from stereotypes and generalizations. Peace

It’s a case of cultural differences. I am Nigerian and he is too so I definitely understand the expectations he had. We love keeping in touch with each other, we don’t live isolated lives and to be honest it helps us with the needed support to help us cope with life’s struggles. Cultural differences can cause lots of cracks in relationships. Also, most Nigerians prefer to date and marry Nigerians to avoid cultural differences. I learned at a early age, that I would never date an African man. Their first lesson from me would be African American History. I don't think that they wouldn't/couldn't relate. I'm truly about my Black People, decedent of my enslaved ancestors.

I agree and most LOVEEEEEE yt ppl. You see how MOST of them cried when their queen passed.... plus, a lot of them don't know enough about FBA history and I can say we don't know much about their history either but that's because they're history isn't easily known. Most of them were taught to not trust FBA anyway by the same people that enslaved us... go figure.
