Divorced Couple Fall Back in Love After 10 Year Separation

An Ohio divorced couple is saying "I do" for the second time thanks to their daughters. Just like the movie “The Parent Trap,” sisters Caroline and Rachel Gaede plotted to get their divorced parents back together. Their parents, Scott and Julie, separated 10 years ago. At the start of the pandemic, Scott joined his ex-wife's isolation bubble. That’s when the couple started to fall back in love with each other. Like in the movie, the couple retied the knot with their daughters by their side.

We’ve grown so soft as a society, and people need to realize that it takes a long time to be fully comfortable in the marriage. Rather than divorcing, they both should’ve been committed to each other no matter what, as the vows say, thinking about the effect this may have on their children. I’m not saying they specifically “rushed,” but most couples do.

I briefly knew a guy. He and his wife married at 18 becase they had to, if you know what i mean. Two years later they had another kid. Two years after that, they got divorced. They both remarried but by the time they were 35, both single again. They reconnected. They ende up re-marrying and having another kid. Those first two were teenagers and got a full-sibling out of it. I was blown away. He said, "we were too young and too immature. It took time."
