5v dc is ok, but it can be also glow from 220v directly by using polyster cap, resistor 2watt, diodes, and a 1000uf 50v capacitor, by circuit you can run above 50 rgb leds , make a try.

With a normal mobile phone charger 5V 2 amp, you can light upto 70 LED's I used 25 LED's just for demonstration. Yes can be achieved using a LED driver that you have mentioned, but personally like to go wity the mobile charger
