This is the best hammock I've seen so far in my (embarassingly extensive) research! Gonna attempt something simpler first but I have enough material to have a go at this for my second try. You even lay the same way as me :) Not very clued up on accents but yours sounds amazing to my British ears! Reminds me of Mabel from Gravity Falls XD

Hi Jellyfish! GingeGirl from HF - I'm new to hammock camping and don't have the skills or know-how for any type of DIY but i love seeing other people's work and creativity. Your hammock is beautiful! Can't wait to see more from you!

It is astonishing how well the semi-circle integrates into the hammock. I guess, should I ever make such a hammock for myself, I'd sew a footbox on each side of the hammock (instead of the knotty mode on one side) since I tend to use both diagonals for lying - of course not at the same time. ;) Great work and crafts(wo)manship! Happy New Year! :)

This is Benson Burner. What A Bueatiful creation. I love the colors, I love the foot box and And I love the knotty on the other side. I would rather have that than any I can buy. I wish you had a store. I'd buy your rainbow straps, the bag for it, a stake bag cordage thing, the hammock of course. You can't get anymore boutique than that! Maybe it wouldn't be fun if it was your job. However if you ever want to make it your job, let me know cause I'll buy!!!!!! Great video too, and I like your dog, forgot his name. Thanks for sharing and building the crudest of crude hammock for my first right now.

Great design, awesome color scheme and excellent idea to color code your continuous loops and whoopie slings to indicate head and foot ends!! I'm getting ready to sew up a double layer hammock so.i can slide my sleeping pad in between the layers for winter use. Keep hanging!

This is johnspenn from the forums. Great job on the hammock with the mods. I'm just starting to learn how to sew, so I'm hoping to pick up some tips! Thanks for sharing!

That's really awesome, nice design! Never seen a design like yours before. Neat. I've been wanting over the years to make a triangle tent like hammock with ratchet straps to hold up and more like a trampoline mat with an underhatch and ladder to get into. Now I'm not on the road so much overnight... so wondering if I'll ever get too... though now have plenty of machines that can stitch what I've envisioned and did find one company makes or at least made a very similar design I found. Thanks for sharing!

Nice work jelly, this is Chesapeake from HF. I have ZERO sewing skills or I'd make one like this myself. Maybe for my floating dock hammock I'll give it a try lol.

I'm thoroughly impressed. That's incredible craftsmanship and really thoughtful design elements. What's the benefit of a double layer? Strength or other characteristics?
@jellyfish4507 жыл бұрын
I did the double layer so when I have a dog in the hammock, we have some extra security. My dog has spent quite a few nights in the hammock this far and I'm glad I made one for use with my pup.

How much do you want for it? That's exactly how I lay in my hammock. Head right, feet left. I am right handed. I bet you are left handed. I only say that because most everyone lays in their hammock the other way. Lol, amateurs! The other way is just completely wrong feeling to me. Very nice video And just let me know when you can send me my new hammock so I can give you my address so that you can send it to me! Thanks again!
@jellyfish4505 жыл бұрын
😂🤣 thanks. I am right-handed, but I roll to my left side at night. Left lay is the best.

Whoops, I meant I am in the process of building a real crude hammock, sorry.
@mcolynuck6 жыл бұрын
I'm confused as to what the purpose of the knotty-mod side is, since you built the footbox on the other side with the additional triangle of fabric? From what I can figure out from the info from you links to hammock forums, they both appear to be ways of creating a footbox, one requiring additional material to be added, and one not. Did you really need to add it?
@jellyfish4506 жыл бұрын
The knotty mod takes up the slack on the head side of the hammock so that fabric doesn’t flap in your face. It also prevents your topquilt from sliding out that side. It works great.

@@jellyfish450 Ah, now I totally get it! Thanks for all your videos :)
