You should not expect each stage to double the voltage. From Wikipedia: "The no-load output voltage is twice the peak input voltage multiplied by the number of stages N", not input voltage x 2^N

For safety, have you considered using bleeder resistors to drain the voltage off the capacitors?

I have disposable camera circuit, I bypassed diode and removed the flash capacitor so I get 500v 25khz output, I get around 1cm sparks with around 3-4 stages, if I add any more stages it doesn't get any better the spark stays around the same.

@@DIYPhil I think that in that case it is a matter of low power of the source of driving high voltage (HV transformer), actually the driver of the HF transformer. If the driver is self-made, try changing the number of turns on the primary of the HV transformer.

I used hv source 1 circuit but when the input 12 v given from rectifier circuit the voltage get decrease to 3v ... Is then any alternative circuit ... And one more thing If the capacitor and diode ratings may reduce then the output will come or not..

I commented on your other video, if the capacitors are rated for 20kv how can it output 200kv+. I made the same circuit as a child and learned the hard way that 3kv capacitors will blow themselves to smitheries at 20kv+ so how can the 20kv output 200kv?

The output voltage is divided by the number of cascades and it is the minimum voltage declared for the capacitors

Although it's like yours, with 10 capacitors it doesn't work very well. I guess it's because of the source which is fed from a 3.7v 9800mAh battery. Is that true or not? If I use an AC flyback with a ZVS module (the frequency in empty 60KHz and in load 120KHz) is it good? The diodes are fast but will be able to handle the high frequency of the ZVS? What do you say?I'm afraid of burning the diodes because of the high frequency.

@@kruimels Yes, there are 2 measurements. 30kV/cm for non-ionised air and 11kV/cm for normal atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity. So for most purposes you are right. I think the 30kV measurement is an ideal situation description. I have modified my comment :)
