I have 400v 1000uf electrolytic caps which I use quite often, will these be good for spot welding?

Yes in essence, Be very careful though. Check what max input voltage for capacitor is or it can blow up when you charge it. Also there is some dodgy handling of the capacitor once it has been charged in this video- if you're unsure how to safely work with capacitors, especially once they are charged, do some research and get a better working knowledge of capacitors. They are useful components but despite their benign appearance they can kill if mis handled.

@@gez_4515 Yes, but the capacitor would supply the welding power. If it's a big problem, add a small resistor in series to the capacitor to charge it during short breaks between welds.

thanck's you are a free electron! but here 500 Farad is too strong, when we look first point welding, here we see, that is too strong to this thickness, was it 0.15 or 0.10mm?, so can be are correct to welding point on 0.2mm. Here you have should make 6-8 welding point to first side on cell. Is too heavy as welding point amount. With one welding point should are ok. If i use you'r capacitor, so i should make 100 Cell welding, so 200 time use, is too many second if i should 6-8 point to weld/cell side.
