Salvador Velasquez ahh discus ❤️ I have had them before and love everything about them.. if you choose the 3D rout, you can choose different materials and such, I use Flagg stone in the smaller tank, but with a larger set up it’s worth building it from scratch as the maintenance gets easier and minimal... please check this video for some helpful tips.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3zFdK2FbtWnfZo

i am also making my own AQUARIUM BACK GROUNDS... mine will trap gallons of water that will not circulate and will stagnate... QUESTION.. will the stagnated trapped water be a problem that must be syphoned out periodically or is it actually beneficial for biological means...

Stagnant water is dangerous so try and keep it at a flow.. even wavemaker helps

Hey I created my own background using the same method as you. Yet I've got a huge spike of ammonia. My pH is fine. But the ammonia is off the charts. No fish tank is empty just water and a background. How did yours hold up.

Matt Glover no issues,. Did you remember to seal it with stone/grout sealer like 4 coats.. ?

@@Bearskimethod I did. I used the method you did with the same products. I think the sand dried out and it grew a bacteria while I took a couple weeks to make it. So that seems to be the issue now. I drained and removed the sand. Currently just the background in the tank. I did a water change last night and I'm waiting to see what my levels are.

Dope Aquariums nah, they get covered up in cement and then sealed in several coats of grout/stone sealer.. 😉 Can’t even tell where they were installed.. 👍🏻
