Salvador Velasquez to best answer your question, I split the entire background into separate parts depending on the opening,.. larger tanks have a brace or two, making the installation more difficult or impossible in one piece.. hope this helps 💪🏻 Good luck with your built broski.. 💪🏻diy👍🏻

If you ever do another background, you can put sealer in the cement as a portion of your water. So if you have 3 parts water it becomes one part and you only have to put two parts water. Keep from losing work you did to get texture you like.

Hey fella, quick question I built a background myself with foam and Hydro concrete only, didn't use a sealant, what kind do you use, what is the list of materials you used

Cellz H all the same as you did, plus some mixed in acrylic paint into the Hydo cement and sealed with 3 coats of stone/grout sealer from Home Depot. 💪🏻

Hey it looks awesome and I know this is a little old but I want to ask because I want to try this, did you seal over the pink part of the foam or does that not effect the water at all? I was thinking just a few layers of epoxy would work for the backside. Love your videos though man great stuff

No sealing the pink just the concrete and paint once you get the look you are going for.. I used stone/tile sealer (Matt) 3 coats 💪🏻

How is the algae growth on the background with it having a sealer on it, does it still grow pretty good? I saw another comment you said you used a stone/grout sealer. Is there a specific brand you like or is there any kind to watch out for that has harmful additives? I would rather not seal it, but I want it to last a long time.

Stone/time sealer from HD (Matt finish) and yes the algae grows just fine, no worries 💪🏻

Love Freedom Happiness Justice in that case use real driftwood and stones/rocks together, use silicon or concrete to hold it together. Use sticks to prop anything loose and leave it alone for a 2 days, fill the tank up and filter the water for 2 weeks before you ad fish 👍🏻
