Best advice I was ever given, dont do anything or add anything to your tank until you have to or need it. Such as dosing, any other additives or media. It only adds costs and complicates the tank maturing naturally. Once it gets some time on it and corals start growing and taking out minerals and stuff then its time to slowly give them what they need. Do not just go all in and start adding things or dosing just because others do it. Test your water weekly, after having corals you can see growing test more often and figure out what they are taking away and if a regular water change can reppace that. Once your past the ability to replinish with water changes then its time to get mote involved 😉

8:55. I know exactly why. The flame angle brought on PATHOGENs. Maybe velvet or ICH. What you need to do next time is dip your fish (new fish or sick fish) in METHYLENE BLUE before you add it to an established tank full of fish. Thank me later.

I recommend getting rid of the glass lid. I have a lot of issues with oxygen in the tank.

Yeah probably velvet. Seriously consider getting a qt tank. 10 gallon would be great. You could probably find a used set up for $20-30 bucks keep some sponges or other media in your sump. When you get a new fish take some sponge do a 10 gallon water change and use that to fill up your qt. Instant tank, then you won’t have to worry about introducing disease. I am speaking from experience not judging you

For your sump, you can just go with a 5 gallon tank. Nothing wrong with a smaller sump.
