DIY | $70 Dual Kayak rack

Building a dual kayak rack for bed of truck. Both kayaks are 10ft and they have to fit with room for clearance of travel trailer. Do it yourself. $70 where spent for materials.

Is this still working for you?? I’m wondering about how it stays secure? Did you bolt it to the truck bed? What keeps it from a strong wind blowing the whole rack up and off?

I think you would want to strap down the wood to the truck as well. Otherwise a strong updraft could cause some issues.

what's your bed size? I guess with a short bed of 5.5 ft, this will not work, the kayaks will stick out too much and hit the trailer. no?

6ft bed and have no problem with the trailer just about a foot and a half from the trailer of clearance.
