DIY Abstract Painting MISTAKES - DONT DO THIS

This abstract DIY Painting is how not to paint abstract art, this piece went horrible wrong, sometimes when painting your thoughts and vision can distract you from what you set out to paint. It's important when creating a DIY painting to keep to a plan, halfway through this piece of art I decided to change that plan and ended up painting an abstract cityscape. As you can see from this video I want happy with the end result. Also adding that pink colour at the end has also disjointed this piece.
I just wanted to share this video to demonstrate that not every painting you paint will be a piece you are happy with, I certainly am not with this piece but it demonstrates never to give up and keep painting and experimenting which over time will make you a much better painter.

Just watched this right through...I actually think its really good...made me feel i was in the modern city block looking across toa more Gotham style city across the water but in a real abstract way....The colours seem good to me, but as ive mentioned before i do love the dark warn out style abstracts with a splash of red etc to draw you in.. I certainly wouldnt call this a failure at all.... Mike

I learned a lot from watching this demo. Thank you for bravely uploading your work even though you felt that it is not up to your expectations. I do feel that people who collect art have different tastes and if a person strongly connects with our work they will love it. Somehow this artwork is Mad City to me full of mystery! I love it!!

Yes, that would have probably worked better, thanks for the advice, I just wanted to share a bad experience, I guess as I video every piece I create there is no getting away with hidding the bad ones lol.

I gave it a thumbs up 1. Because I did like it and 2. Because I just finished scraping the paint off 2 large canvas's because I thought they were terrible and I had tried to correct the canvas's so many times they were thick with paint and I just finished telling myself I have no business even trying to paint anymore because I'm so bad and then I watched this video and your message has inspired me to try one more time...maybe. I'm just painting for fun. I'm a complete amateur and have just been watching videos to try and learn so this video helped.

I’m guessing you didn’t intend to do a cityscape when you started out? The cityscape looks really good. There’s clear artistic skill here, it may not be the best combination of colors and shapes, but overall it’s pretty impressive.

Aww thanks, Sal, yes your right I didn't start off wanting to paint a city scape and I guess that's how your mind plays tricks on you when you are painting which leaves disappointment if you feel it spoils what you started off to archive which for me happened here, thanks for the comment.

Hi if you mix in a bit of pva artist quality into the tile adhesive it adds flexibility and doesn’t crack
