This is no good diffuser, since the depth of the wells is constant. Only the fins work as spreaders for frequencies small than their size. This is waste of time until You insert additional plates in order to create the wells approriately and make use of phase interference which is the number working principle of diffusers. At the moment you got a car without engine.

And then: Why always this disturbing "music"? It worsens the information from the video only. If the information cannot stay for itself, better leave it away.

even so you type quadratic diffusion calculated into google and it will tell you how and what size to build the wells for proper diffusion , not very hard

VERY nice! I will be copying you sir! Thanks for the great and EASY tutorial.

Hello! Thank you for sharing this video.I have a question, what is the name of the tool that you show at 2:19? Great work btw.

do you have a building diagram ? blueprint ? or can you suggest sizes ? thank you for the video. great work. EDIT Never mind, missed that part where you have the measurement's, thanks again

hi i have bass traps all over my walls & ceiling in my home cinema & want to go further with acoustic tretment, can you please tell me where the best position for this type of diffuser would be ? thanks, lee.
@thisisDeus8 жыл бұрын
hey, in almost all cases you would want a diffuser to be placed on the wall behind the listener. this prevents frequencies from bouncing back to your ears. further more acoustic foam is more so for early reflections. and bass traps are to even out the sound level in your room (corners effortlessly amplify freqs) along with trapping the low freqs.

Hi there. Do you use nails, or only youy butter looking glue? Also, aren't you afraid to put your hands so close to the saw? (table saw)

i think diffusers like these are made for people who uses big crystal clear expensive speakers which air pressure has a far reach in the room as for every room is different so i think on a professional level *BIG ROOM* to measure your frequenties to the desirable level you'll need equipment to place every sound *absorber* *Bass traps* *Diffusers* at the right spot as how much Hertz or Speaker Power you are going to use is always an issue ! for as when you are close to this diffuser and so is your microphone to record the sound then the rest of the room needs to absorb reverbing low frequentie air waves. *do not place too many absorbers in the room for it will take away all the natural sound* for the small theater people out there ! forget to make a room fully soundproof be cos you cannot make a room 100% soundproof with only absorber panels and diffusers and bass traps, What you can do with these elements in the room is to make your room sound acoustic ! Big improvements on sound quality ! the only problem and always will be a problem is the low frequency of the subwoofer in apartments. Augustin you made a nice diffuser ! i would have made the panels in the box adjustable to set them in the degree i need to get the best sound on the microphone. maybe some styrofoam of some sort maybe denser foam and just get a long stick to punch a rope through it so you can always get these foam fillers out of the diffuser to make it sound just right as you pleased. sorry for my bad english :D but then again as always in the end i say... Take Care my friend *By the light of the moon**Vanish into the misty fog of legends* think of any spookie sound to end this comment

Pretty sure you wasted your time on that... Diffusers only work correctly with a specific pattern
@FrozenSide8 жыл бұрын
The thing with random pattern diffusers is you won't know what it will do until you put it in the room. It might work (probably not), it might do absolutly nothing or it might create and/or worsen exsisting problems. Schroeder patterns is the way to go (either QRD or PRD).
@giancosk88 жыл бұрын
How can we tell which are the right patterns to apply them on this diffuser somehow? (consider that this video helps just with general DIY issues and some people might be wondering the same i'm asking you) regards!

Clearly people are not watching the video Before typing comments. All the heights are different depths and heights @3:38 The old school saying “think before we speak” lol 😂

You made this wrong! The well depth of each well should be different. In your video they are all the same.
@stephencarter86255 жыл бұрын
Are they all the same? The wall heights are different! That said ~ not convinced as to the effectiveness of this design...

This diffuser won't work because there no is calculations done for the set of frequencies that need to be phased out properly. In a properly made diffuser, each well cancels certain frequency groups which is why diffusion is used. It's purpose is to remove boundary's within a room.
