i was a bit sharp in my previous comment...no doubt this deffuser will work muuuch better than a random shaped sound scatter... i have a full woodworking shop (woodworker-woodturner-musician here) so i just bought your DIY plans. Thank you.

L, No worries. Diffusers are distant dependent. You must match the diffuser prime number to the usage of the room and the distance from the diffuser to your ears.

Hi, Dennis. First off, Thank you for haveing some of the most helpful videos on room acoustics on the youtube. My question is, with my room at 12x14x8 (Mixing Room), would i need to cover my whole back wall with several QRD-7's or just one will be enopgh?

A, You are welcome. I will need to know more about your room. Fill out the information in this link: www.acousticfields.com/free-room-analysis/

would it not be beneficial to place insulation material in the empty space behind the covered sections, for a small bit of absorption?
@AcousticFields4 жыл бұрын
D, It depends on the prime number used.

Great video Sir. I listen to a lot of music, and I happen to find your video. One question, does it really make a difference of the sound quality. All my walls are sheet rock, in the BASEMENT. Thank you.
@AcousticFields Жыл бұрын
Sheet rock has a negative impact on certain frequency ranges, especially those assiciated with voice.

How acoustically important are having the well dividers? That is, if I build a diffuser with only the well face pieces in a frame does that defeat any of the most important acoustic functions of the a diffuser which seem to be due to the front facing panels?
@AcousticFields7 ай бұрын
Both the well width and depth have an impact on the response of each quadratic prime number. The well width works on half wavelength principles and the well depth works on quater wavelength rules.

Do you still sell the kits, in 2021? Thank you.
@AcousticFields3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are special order due to lack of demand. Send me your contact info. including ship to address and I will get you costs. Minimum purchase is 4 units.

Is this kit still available for purchase? I don’t see it on your website. Thanks!

We discontinued the kits. No one bought them. We can build them for you in groups of 4. Send us your request to info@acousticfields.com.

Hi sir, what's the height and weight of this diffuser? Thanks
@AcousticFields2 жыл бұрын
Diffusers can be built any size to address the specific acoustical issues.

Shouldn't it have 7 wells/spaces? I've seen 7+1, etc, just wondering if I'm missing something. Thanks.
@AcousticFields3 жыл бұрын
You can eliminate the end well 0 surface.

@@AcousticFields Thanks for verifying, that's one option I eventually came up with, but don't know enough to be sure. That makes sense, better than adding an extra well in order to achieve symmetry, as less material is used.

Hi, When i use this calulator to find out the depth of wells etc it doesnt say how long the actual difuser actually is. Can i make the lenth as long or as short as i want? thanks will
@AcousticFields8 жыл бұрын
+Wiremu It is best to use standard prime number sequences rather than to try and calculate what starting and ending frequency you require. Make your well widths at 2" Length is determined by surface needs and distance to listening position. the panel is tuned to frequencies, What are these frequencies ?
@AcousticFields7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaroslaw, The P-7 quadratic diffuser is 870 - 3,450 Hz. with a 2" well width. The P-11 is 377 - 3,450 Hz. The P-13 is 283 - 3,450 Hz. The P-17 is 213 - 3,450 Hz. The P-23 is 187 - 3,450 Hz.
@jarekstepniak7 жыл бұрын
yes, each chamber is defined for a particular frequency, What about the others ?
@sergejharres79326 жыл бұрын
just for 100% clarification, these frequencies are the same for the diy-plans i bought from you?

No shade towards this video or the creator, but these DIY diffusers are seriously extremely overpriced. Almost 1k dollars for a couple of pieces of wood ? GIK Acoustics has diffusors, already assembled, very very well built and provide absorption also, and cost literally 30% of the price of these diffusers. Who buys this ?

Not all products are created equal. We use wood not cardboard in the build of all of our products. These units are hand built and finished better than most pieces of furniture.
