Fantastic news. I'm REALLY looking forward to your plans but as a newcomer to woodworking (recently retired) could I ask you to include what materials and wood you used please? I've watched others of your videos and particularly like your use of the 'click' flooring panels so I've started copying you. By the way, I'm hoping you might also be thinking of uploading your plans for the router installation. Of course I'm Subscribed and have clicked the notification bell for to catch all your work. Many thanks for your efforts, it's certainly appreciated by me.

@@Tinker1950 Hi John, thank you for your comment. The base i made from flooring laminate and fences from oak. Use old blade that you don't use any more to cut laminate because it becomes dull very quickly. download free plans here: drive.google.com/file/d/1LiAHMmsUQ-fWPZLJYL3qr2BTMSmTR9GY/view?usp=sharing

This is the best crosscut sled design I’ve seen! Thin base (what is that? Flooring?) blade width adjustment! Adjustable fence/stop block! And the way you micro adjusted the fence with the threaded rod to get perfect square was really smart!

It is an admirable design, as soon as I complete my carpentry shop I will try one of these Crosscut sleds I guess once finished it will be the last one in my shop I am 87 yrs. old but trying to make of this hobby the best, also thanks for your explicit drawings and explanations.

I just finished building a crosscut sled very similar to Woodsmiths. I included the adjustable opening base for the blade size from thin kerf to Dado set. I wanted the fence to be extendable but wasn't too keen on having to add on a second piece like in this one so I used your idea and integrated two aluminum bars that could be pulled out a variable distance as needed to extend the fence. It turned out great...compact yet very flexible. I may still add a couple of T-Tracks to the base to do miters with hold-down clamps or other added capability. It was a fun build. Thanks for the ideas.

You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzbin.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

Great book for a beginner . kzbin.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.
Круто!! Еще можно сверху сделать выборку фрезой и вклеить линейку, чтобы сразу выставлять нужный размер .👍👍👍

So impressive... Absolutely amazing craftsmanship and I'm simply astounded at all the wonderful crosscut slide ideas - major props! If I could only make two suggestions - first, that extension piece could use some bottom support -- a simple dog-eared square would do. Second, your stop block would benefit by construction from three pieces instead of two, with the flip-down piece sandwiched between the top twp to minimize deflection. You could also increase rigidity and functionality by adding a rabbet in the bottom of the top pieces and making an acrylic insert to span the two pieces which could also function as a ruler marker by scribing a line in the middle and using red ink to fill the mark. Subscribed!
