Hi! Cute sculpture. I have the same issue too with using acrylic on this clay. I think the clay is just super cheap and bad. My posca pens don't adhere to it. I haven't experimented much but my watercolors stick to it. Gouache or tempra might be a good paint to use on this clay? But I don't have either. Crayola says you can use acrylic so I don't know what's up, maybe you have to use their brand. It's really meant for children so I'm sure it takes better for children's art supplies. Or maybe a primer like gesso could save you. Many people use DAS air dry clay because it's paper based unlike Crayola, it also doesn't shrink because it's not earth based.

So, I left a question on Amazon regarding the acrylic paint issue, and a Crayola customer person replied but all they said was to make sure the project is dry (duh, we tried that) and for further assistance to call their customer support.
