Since people can't be bothered to read the description, maybe you can try mentioning that your tutorials are for patterns you sell. Either as something you say at the start of your videos, such as, "Thank you for purchasing xyz pattern from [insert your store name]" or you can insert some text in your video to this effect. So much better than having to repeat yourself to everyone who's too lazy to read. :) PS. I could tell from your video title that this was associated with your own patterns since you did mention your store name and you gave a name to this product which to me is very indicative of a professional video versus a hobby video. BUT it seems many others were expecting a free pattern or something. Go figure. I guess deducing skills are lacking these days. Haha. Thanks for the informative video nonetheless. I"ll go check out your pattern store.

I hope this isn't a question that's already been answered, but I came from your trousers video and loved how you added in your own measurements/how much fabric you used so I could see for reference. As I'm a beginner, I'm not sure how to estimate how much fabric I need for this project, so may I ask for your personal measurements in this top and how many meters/yards of fabric you used? If you aren't comfortable with displaying them, how much fabric would I need for US sizes 2-4? Thank you so much for this wonderful video, this is my number one project that I want to complete! :)

Thank you so much and that's no problem at all. My bust is 90cm, waist 72 and hips 91cm. To make this top you'll need 70cm of fabric that's 150cm wide. :)

hi! i’m sorry i’m new to sewing, but would appreciate if you could help me figure out some confusions i have! how do i know what pressure to set my sewing machine and how do i end a stitch? as well as this, how do i know what type or stitch to do(straight,zig zag,)? Finally, sometimes when i’m sewing the back of the fabric will have big loops on it and i’m confused why...love the cowl neck and will likely be buying the pattern! thanks, hope you can get back to me!
@tintofmint
@tintofmint 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, usually you don't have to change ant settings on you machine in terms of pressure. Use a standard foot and straight stitch to sew the top. You can use a zig zag stitch for the seams to stop them from fraying. Also it sound like the tension of one of your threads is wrong. Try to unthread the machine and thread it back again. Hope that helps 🤗🤗

I bought my fabric from a scrap box in my local fabric shop, Abakhan. They have what seems to be identical satin to what I used on their website. Hope that helps! 🙂 www.abakhan.co.uk/fabric/dressmaking/satin/duchess-satin-gold-150cm.html

In my newest video to make Louise Dress I used satin fabric that I bought online and they also have a very similar shade of gold satin to the one, I used in this video. Here is the link if you want to check it out :) tidd.ly/2RIclu0

whats the fabric content of your satin? mine is 100% polyester and was wondering if it is safe to iron
@tintofmint
@tintofmint 4 жыл бұрын
I bought this fabric from a scrap box in my local fabric store so I'm not totally sure but on their website a fabric that's very similar to what I got is 100% Polyester. The irons usually have a setting for polyester, if not just start from w very low temperature. Hope that helps! 🤗

I have a question. What’s that second step you do after sewing the pieces together. It looks like you’re going over the stitches again but cutting off fabric at the same time. I’m new at this and I’m excited to learn.

Do you mean when I'm doing the straps? I cut the excess fabric and bag them out using a loop turner. I also made a tutorial with pictures on my blog so perhaps you might want to check it out ☺️🌈 tintofmint.com/amelia-top/

It's called overlocking/serging! It stops the fabric from fraying and neatens everything up :)

Of course! Just make a French seam on the sides and double roll the hems with topstitch to prevent fabric from fraying xx

What sewing machien do you reccommend for a beginner who knows how to hand stitch?
@tintofmint
@tintofmint 4 жыл бұрын
When I started sewing I bought a cheap sewing machine with a thought that I'm just a beginner. The worst idea ever! Every project I tried to make was a disaster and the quality was awful. When I finally bought my current sewing machine, it made a huge difference! What I'm trying to say is that even if you are a beginner, there is no better investment than an investment in yourself! I have a Brother JK4000 and I couldn't recommend it more. Here is a link if you want to check it out bit.ly/3dmzevQ

Don't get one with lots and lots of fancy stitches, you probably won't end up needing more than a few zigzag, regular stitch, and buttonhole. I have a brother too and it's easy to use

That's absolutely how it works! You print the pattern on A4 paper and tape pages together. I've made a tutorial on how to do it here tintofmint.com/how-to-assemble-a-pdf-pattern/ Hope that helps! 🤗🌈
