I love creative minds. 10years later it’s still being admired. I think I’ll do it a bit differently but definitely stealing the vent idea.

I realize your video is a few years old. Just wanted to let you know your idea and end result are purely excellent. Thank you for taking the time to do the video. You and yours take care, God bless and Watch your 6's!

That is a great idea, I used to have a plastic box of style on the side of my mini 14, it would bounce the brass back into the auction and cause jams, I never thought of cutting the bottom of the box out and putting a nylon bag underneath. I wonder if the hot brass ever melts The netting?

Great idea, it also works around scope mounts too which is a nice bonus. The fancy one my buddy got from Caldwell didn't.

A+ I've been trying to find something to mount to my T97 and this is an awesome idea. I even work as a mechanic and never ever thought of this before. So thank you sir. So here's my helpful hint, if you can't find anything at a junk yard try hitting up your local small shop or performance shop because people are always installing intake systems (cold air, short ram, ect.) and more often then not they don't want their factory intake and end up just leaving it at the shop, and most mechanics are hoarders and keep some of the parts that "may come in handy one day" so it might not hurt to check them out and show them this video because they may actually have what you need sitting in the bottom of there tool box or something. ( source: personal experience as a mechanic and hoarder of maybe one day items)

Cool idea! I noticed that you rubberized the ears that clamp onto the rifle to protect the finish! You did a really cool brass catcher without spending much at all! KUDOS!

Really clean work, looks like it was bought like that. I'm going to make a trip to Home Depot and look at their ducting/vents section and see if I can find something similar. Maybe a shop vac attachment would work? Thanks for the idea!

Awesome idea. Making my own based on yours. For everyone that is asking. This is from a Volvo: model between 1995 and 1997. Part number on the piece is 1397877. I got it from a 4 door sedan model.

wish you showed the other side the gun that shows where the metal catches or holds it on. i cant tell if it is held by gravity or by the scope mount or the rails. looks like both the "tips" of the coat hanger are their different specific shapes for no reason or on purpose.

I tried a brass catcher with similar nylon mesh, the extremely hot brass melted the mesh. My rifle used launch the brass a good six feet away into the next shooters rifle. An Army armourer told me he could fix it. He took out the nylon from the middle of the extractor spring. The empties then never left my table.

Looks really good. Can it fit when using a 100rnd beta mag? If it could then that could be a perfect solution for us beta mag users wanting to collect our brass.

Real mice.I have an inexpensive purchased bag that doesn't work that well, But maybe I can make some adjustments based on your design to make it better, or scrap it and do your idea. I was thinking about forming something with Kydex before I saw your video.

If you can't find a similar intake tube, you could possibly heat and mold some PVC pipe to approximate that shape. Putting the lip on the edge would be the hardest part.
