Thanks for this presentation! I will be switching from aluminum to carbon soon because of the expense. I will be making arrows only for my own use, and I have most of the stuff to make this rig. It is an elegant setup. everything you need and nothing you don't.

Rig a clamp at the cutting end, to hold the nozzle of a domestic vacuum cleaner close to the disc, power the vacuum and the cutting tool off the same switch (so they go on/off together with a single click). Instant dust extraction

I built something like this a few years back. used an adjustable square to alter arrow length with a glued on gromet to hold the nock instead of using the snake, I have the tool itself mounted to a wooden frame held down with a rubber clamp. a wooden frame with a 90 degree cut exposes the spinning blade just enough to cut through the arrow as I spin it 360.I I then use an arrow squaring tool to ensure the cut is perfectly straight. Best thing is, I can easily unmount the dremel and use it for anything else I need. When I want an arrow saw, I just re-mount it to the frame.

Great explanation of the pieces and parts without tearing it down. As I had a question pop in my mind you answered it well. Well done sir, thank you for your time.

nice to see such DIY tools! i do not use a jig like that...i do it by hand (tape of the length with electrical tape, cut the arrow and use the upper side of the cutting-disk to grind the last bit down and make it flush)

16:28 The cutting disc spindle is very badly balanced. You can see it clearly when it stops. Not just a problem with cheap machines. My Dremel-Disc spindle can also be unbalanced if i am not careful.

Very nice. I would lock my Drexel in a vice and hold the shaft against the cutting wheel. Didn’tvalways come out 90 degrees

One word on carbon dust and masks. That type of mask is not sufficient for filtering out carbon dust and even if it was you are getting the dust all over your hands and arms. Carbon dust is like porcupine spines. They go in with ease but they will never come out. Install a small vacuum hood. It's real easy and it can save your eyes as well because those little cutting disc tend to break and when they do they fly just as fast as an arrow...

Mine is the same idea but with a battery powered dremel mounted onto the board. Yours beats mine with the flexible drive and rubber mounts as mine has horrible vibration 😑. Time to buy a flexi drive methinks 😊. Great vid Kevin 👍🏽.

Thanks buddy, nice to be appreciated. Hopefully a flexdrive will solve the vibration issues :) It always amazes (and disappoints) me that ppl have the energy to click a thumbs down but dont have the energy to tell me why. Dont like my face maybe :-p
