UGH!!! we all know what that is like, especially Cancer patients. I really appreciate your DYI, it made me feel at little better about myself. Thank you so Much.

I am a licensed hairstylist and this is the best "DIY"layered haircut I have seen. This is similar to what I would do, of course since I am doing it on someone else I am able to subsection the back and front and avoid overdirecting from the back to front, but this is a pretty technically correct haircut! MUCH better than the hair tie method!

I am the furthest thing from licensed and tried to save $ by following this video and cutting my own hair. @@Ellebangs Hi Silvia! I was just wondering if this still apply to how you can cut long soft layers yourself? I personally think it helped my hair. I always cut my own hair but tried your tutorial yesterday and it looks so much more polished. The one step I wasn't doing was the point cut on the back. After seeing your video my approach on pulling the back to the front so I can see what I'm point cutting has been a game changer for me. Do you still cut your hair this way or do you have more tips you have shared since 2012? Thanks for sharing you tips on DIY hair coloring too! I'm getting ready to apply brown permanent dye to my blonde hair to create the balayage effect. I'm following one of your video's! I'm super excited to try this process! TYVM! 🙂

ellebangs I tried this myself and LOVE the way my hair came out! I watched both of your DYI videos on layering your own hair and I got something out of both of them. I like this video better for hand placement (do wish you did both sides), my hair is very thick and about as long as the second video. I went back to my hairdresser to color my hair shortly after I cut it and he didn't comment on "My" cut... although, his girls said; it came out great!~ It is exactly what I've been asking him to do for many years, but he would never listen to me. Thank you, thank you! I will be sending in my donation!

I have long thick hair. I've been doing 9 sections for the past 5 years. This can be overwhelming.. This has really simplified the process for me. I always got confused about the crown section & layers. This really simplified my whole process and just makes sense. I'm no stylist. Just a mom who couldn't find time to get to my salon. I've watched endless tutorials on cutting layers, sectioning, etc. Just do this & remember it doesn't have to be perfectly sectioned. I get compliments on my hair all the time.

Thank you so much for sharing. I watched this several times before trying it. I've now used your techniques for 5 haircuts and I've been very very happy with the results! It looks just as good as any salon cut I ever had. I suggest people try the cutting the layers a little longer than you think at first, so if you make a mistake (like I did the first couple cuts), then you can simply cut an inch or so off the length for a perfect cut. Saving lot's of money and really happy with the results! Thank you!

I have commented on this video already but had to come back to share that this is helping so many people. The results are really actually professional ones if you just do as she explains in her video and Take Your time. Dry hair does have a huge advantage for you too. I will be continuing to do this even once lockdowns are over. This is a great way for our family to save money and time and getting it done properly. I dont colour my hair but there are some amazing videos for that too. Just gotta do things properly. Going blonde is the most tricky one but simple once you learn how. Been there and done that but its been ages and i love my natural colour so its here to stay

I love this video. I have been cutting my own hair for about a year with the instructions. I go back and watch just to refresh my memory every few months since I am not a hair stylist. My hair always turns out perfect!!

I love your hair!!! You look absolutely amazing! Does this cut work on thinner hair and not so much hair?

i trimmed my hair today and followed this video and it actually worked! it's the first time i've ever trimmed my hair and i haven't taken way too much off or it hasn't looked horrible. i like my hair quite blunt so i just did the base cut and bangs part.

Thank you so much for explaining the RIGHT way to cut your own hair! This keeps my hair healthy because I can cut it more often so I don't have to lose to much length at once and helps growing my hair longer and healthier! (Whithout haven to pay alot of money in the salon) and they always cut off to much lenght anyway. Thank you!!

This is a very good video bc it's almost impossible to mess up. A lot of people make the mistake of cutting too deep into the layers and end up with a bubble on top (even hairdressers!) this video is very similar to how I cut my hair. Watching it with the tips and logic behind it will surely help a lot of women, and was a good reminder for me! Thanks!

So it’s safe to cut your hair at home instead of going to the salon? I feel like my hairdresser is always so scissor happy and that’s why I can never grow my hair very long if o keep going to the salon. -Mehrnaz

Just to say you are not awkward but rather clear and concise in your explanations. Thanks for the video. x

Hi, I just spent over an hour cutting 2 inches of length from my hair while cutting along to your video. Turned out pretty decent. You make it look easy. Guess it just takes practice. Kinda fun giving yourself a haircut. :) It's hard to stop doing fine tuning here and there. I'll be checking out your other vids. Thank you!

It works! It works! Thank you! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ I have very short hair and just did this to small pieces, pulled them up. Because... my hair was so damaged from bleach and dye... my roots were 3in and the rest color... well, I'm removing all the color (about 3in) off the whole hair.

i just tried this, and it came out amazing! but my scissors aren't sharp enough... do you have any recommendations for scissors? thank you
@nolid78438 жыл бұрын
take the staple out of a book of matches and trace the angled edge of each blade on the part where you would normally strike a match until sharp enough. you can get shears sharp enough to shave the peach fuzz on your arms that way.

I actually tried this on my hair which is pretty long so I figured if I messed it up no big deal I would just go to a pro because I needed to lose a couple inches anyway. No need. It came out good. I took off about 1 inch all around. Now I have cute layers. I recently moved to another state and this will get me by until I find a new salon I like. Thanks!
