I just encountered the exact same scenario, same parts and all. The unit you replaced is model BIB12 and called Whirlybird. It is aluminum, has a slightly taller elbow, and the braces sit on the outside of the elbow. The replacement you used is model GT-12, which is galvanized steel. The elbow is shorter and the braces connect on the inside. The base of both are identical in construction, but have a different mark used to adjust pitch. Also, the steel model is 2.5 pounds heavier. I learned all this after the fact, but did everything the same as you. Cheers to that!

Yes, thank you for showing us this install. Also the importance of leveling it. Also don’t be discouraged at yourself, for taking two hours. Number one you got it done yourself. And you did it the right way! Sometimes things that may seem easy, changes due to circumstances beyond our control. Again, high 5 for sticking with it and not giving up and learning in the process.

I live in Vegas and I always procrastinate on installing one on my roof to help cool the attic somewhat. Barely a crawl space in the attic, so the heat really gets intense even with the AC blasting. Watching this video has given me resolve to do it. Thank you buddy. Good job on yours.

The screw holes on the bottom are numbered to correspond to the pitch of your roof. Align the holes insert screws and your vent if level to your roof pitch

I've never seen that kind before that you replaced as my replacement was slightly different but it had a ring at the bottom that just slipped over the 12-in opening.

As another viewer point out the old unit is model BIB12, and I tried to replaced with model GT-12, It was not an exact fit. So, maybe you have another different model. 👍

Hi I want to know if the outside temperature is 45 Degree C and the inside temperature is 40 C. Bu installing Whirlybird in each room will reduce how much temperature inside the rooms?

Sorry, I don't have the info. The attic is like a hot oven on a hot day. This device will help better air circulation to keep it dry and lower the temperature faster.

Water doesnt leak in through the blade holes?

Amazingly, it is true that water does not leak through the turbine. My guess it is because it is spinning very fast.

My understanding is the turbine help circulate the air inside attic. In a hot day, it helps reduce the attic temperature quicker.
