Hi everyone! I DID NOT add darts to this top. I simply folded it that way to fit the dress form. If you don't want to add darts use a knit fabric. If you use a non stretch like I did then try it on & pinch/pin areas that don't fit around the bust & simply sew them down. Thanks for watching! :)

You can use any shirt or just use your measurements to make a pattern; you don't need a tank top. I showed how to make a pattern from measurements in my recent backless tank video. Also there's a lot of pattern videos on KZbin. Hope that helps you.

You should mention how you got that dart on the side of the top. By the looks of it you have just folded it up but without that dart it would turn out very different and wouldn't fit like how it looks on the end result you have.
@tashalala10 жыл бұрын
jacqui atkins yes, as I said to someone else, it was just folded & pinned that way on the dress form because it is a different size than I am. I did not need a dart to wear it myself.

They aren't sewn-in darts, the side edge is just folded up in the middle for a better fit.
@brittanytillman12758 жыл бұрын
she did not add darts to the finished product. she just folding the garment on the edges to fit the mannequinn better for display pruposes. She should have added darts because she used a non stretch fabric, which is why the fit is off..

I know this is an old video. Still, I have some comments for future viewers, and tashalala... Yes, the darts in the photo are misleading. It would have been nice to simply show the top as it looked without the darts, because that is the finished product of the video. The darts make it a different garment. It's not reversible after you "try it on & pinch/pin areas that don't fit around the bust & simply sew them down." Also, it is important to press seams after sewing, and after turning right side out, for the flat crisp finished look. This important step should be included in the video!
@ShaniaShania6 жыл бұрын
Hey Stefani! Thank you for reminding us of the importance of pressing the seams after sewing. I often forget this step when I'm making clothes. Thanks a ton! xoxo, Shania
