Easy to follow instructions, lovely! Well done :) One thing I would suggest to sewers is to curve your dart close to bust point to make it less pointy!

I tried this but measurement C, D and to the nipple don't match at all. I figured measurement D should be divided by two, but still everything is off. Could you please explain what you did with measurement C??

Hey Shade! I'm a little confused by your question, but I'm gonna do my best to answer. When you start drafting the pattern, Measurement C does not get divided by 2. However Measurement D *does* get divided by 2 (I forgot to put that in the tutorial, sorry). Also, something important is that when you're taking your measurement for D, remember that is just the Front of your bust (from one armpit to the other), you are not measuring the entire diameter (meaning all around) your bust. But with my measurements (and line C meets line D) the angle between C and B becomes very big (line C gets higher to the top and the top looks less like a 'triangle'). Then when I measure from shoulder to the nipple the end of that line won't be on the same height of the meeting point of C and D. I hope you can understand me

Measurement C is the distance from one end of the neckline (line b) to the side slope of where you want the crop top to sit (below the armpit in my case). The mark I made for point c (at 1:34) is connected to where I placed my measuring tape below my armpit (at 1:05). I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions. xoxo, Shania

Hi Sharnee, no problem. To make this top without making a pattern first, you can just trace a top that you already have that's like this halter top style. Keep in mind that if you trace a top that you already have, you'll need to consider if you want to add darts to structure the top around your bust area. I spent so many hours on this the angle of the line c was drawn on will forever remain a mystery. At the end of the video it doesn't even look like the top at the beginning and then we get told that it produces boxy results and we're going to need to add elastic for it not to look awkward. It was a experience I hope not to go through again

Hey Eileen! Sorry to hear that it wasn't a great experience for you. Line C is the line that connects one end of Line B (the top of the halter top) to one end of the bust line (Line D). I'm a self-taught seamstress, which means I sometimes make mistakes along the way. One thing I've learned since making this tutorial is the importance of contouring to avoid a "boxy" fit in some areas. However, it's possible that not everyone will have the "boxy" issue depending on their personal measurements. Hope this helps/makes sense! xoxo, Shania
