DIY beaded heart locket with secret message inside

A tutorial on how to make a reversible heartpendant made from beads. The secret message is a lock of hair between two pieces of tape that I put in just before closing the two sides together. You can see it at about 22 min and 15 seconds in to the video. You could also put in a small letter, photo or anything you can come up with.
Items used:
fireline thread (.006 grey)
2 beading needles (I used size 11, but for beads this big you can use bigger needles)
metal ring + chain
19 blue beads (10mm)
19 turquoise beads (10mm)
14 silver beads (6mm)
OR:
19 red beads (6mm)
19 cream beads (6mm)
14 gold beads (3mm)

Excellent tutorial! I thought it would be difficult to see with the back beads and black thread, but it wasn't. Instructions are very clear. Specifying the connecting bead is helpful. It looks much easier than I thought it would. We'll see when I actually attempt it!

The heart is beautiful! It would definitely work for a lock of hair - or maybe a tiny vial for a loved ones ashes, but I don't think the secret message thing would work, since the only way the person would be able to see it would be if they took the thing apart. But I really like the idea, and even just as a regular necklace this is really pretty!

Thanks for the feedback. The idea with the secret message is that if the heart ever breaks you would find a hidden message. Kind of like a timecapsule. It's not meant to be read straight away. I really like the idea that the necklace might be passed on and the message read by other generations. Kind of what a mother wrote to her daughter read by the granddaughter or similar. So it's a long time idea :)

Is a nice variant on the right angle weave hearts but would suggest doubling the thread for more structure, and weaving in your tails before cutting in case the knots loosen. I may have missed it -- what was the secret message?
