I have a 2016 Patriot and installed the exact lights and resistors and after a few days- one side started flickering and we could never figure out why. Had to put the factory bulbs back in unfortunately. That was was second set of lights and resistors I've boughten in attempt to have LEDs in my Patriot. Just can't seem to beat the flicker!
@Chendyy3 жыл бұрын
Really?? Thats a bummer. I ran these for about 6 months with no flickering issues. Wonder if you had a bad resistor although if you tried two different sets, there must've been another issue causing.
@PH-md8xp Жыл бұрын
Possibly an issue with one of the headlamp relay. Try putting in a new one and see if the flicker resolves.

Is it hard to adjust headlight beams? Mine must be to high I get people shining brights at me
@Chendyy2 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't be hard to adjust them using the small set screw but what could take a few attempts is actually lining both beams up. I never adjusted mine but saw a lot of people would park a couple feet in front of a wall just before dark so they could align both light beams evenly!

@@Chendyy are you referring to the red gasket deal around the light housing? I recently bought a set, not what you installed, and had issues installing due to there being no recess around the light housing. So I saw the factory Sylvania light housing was recessed, not having a red gasket, so I in turn removed the red gasket from the LED housing, in order to install, turn clockwise, to lock in place. That was quite a frustrating deal since I thought there was a problem with the housing, but I simply had to remove the gasket and it worked fine. Great video though. Easy to follow and understand! Too bad you don't have your Jeep anymore! #LGBFJB

You had these Beamtech LED's or a similar LED set? No, I haven't had anyone flash their high's at me at night at least as of yet. Because these are adjustable, I have them positioned the best I can which is enough to keep them from aiming high thus blinding oncoming traffic!

Would have been great to see them at night as well as in the Low beam vs High beam settings. Other than that solid and quick to the point video. I've always had HID's which is basically the same thing except its a ballast in place of the resistors. You cant use high beams with HID. On standard LED's you can but the brightness increase is barely noticeable so HID's beat normal non-dual LEDs in terms of brightness. What you have seems to ruin the only advantage of LED's which is the fact that no ballast is required. Why not just get HID's if you're going to get resistors? Is the high/low setting really noticeable? How about the blue tip high performance Halogens they sell at Autozone that retain full High beam usage? Idk where these bulbs fit in haha
@Chendyy3 жыл бұрын
Thank you🙏🏼 And I agree, I intended to get a clip of them at night with high/ low comparison but completely forgot to before having to get rid of the Patriot. I’ve also always went with HID’s which are very similar but wanted to try LEDs and see how they compared which I was very happy with. They have a crisp light, instant brightness, low energy consumption and a decent Hi/ Low function. And you don’t need resistors with LEDs for a lot of manufactures/ models but, Mopar is one where you do in order to prevent anti-flicker or them completely going out due to the canbus system. It’s been a while since I’ve tried a set of blue tip halogen bulbs but in my experience, they never put out the same color or brightness of an HID/ LED yet consume a lot more energy.

Random question so I just did this. Where do you put the resistors at
@Chendyy2 жыл бұрын
I mounted them to the metal frame rail inside the fender just behind the headlights. I wasn't sure how these particular resistors were going to work so before I drilled holes in rail to mount, I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to need a different set thus why I didn't show in video but at 2:47 is where I mounted them! You can really mount them anywhere they will reach that's away from anything that could potentially melt.
