So my bilge pump keeps blowing the fuses, I’m guessing it needs to be replaced… especially since it’s a 32 year old boat and I suspect it’s an original bilge pump. Sound about right?

Sounds like that could be a cause, especially if it's the original pump. Let us know what you find out!

The inexpensive corrugated hose that's been in the market for ever is OK, but it reduces the pump's capacity due to the interior roughness. Ideally you'd use a smooth bore hose. One nice thing about the corrugated hose is that has smooth sections to allow clamping to the pump and the through hull without leaks.

They say don't use corrugated hose but show corrugated hose in their example.....somebody missed something..and it wasn't me...

if you have to be taught to replace a bilge pump, you should not own a boat

alsations1 what a dick comment. I just bought a power boat for the first time and both bilge pumps failed. I watched this video to make sure I had all of my bases covered. Gosh, I hope I can get to the point where I can go thru life just like this guy! Anyway, the video is good and even helpful for a first time boat owner.
